His spam bot's malfuctioning...

Looks ok as a film. Opening looks a bit too like that war of the worlds wank the criminal cruise made so I refuse to be too enthusiastic about it.

It's a remake of Omega Man, which starred Charlton Heston. Seriously, I love the really bad Chuck Heston films from the late 60s, early 70s. Ole Chuck used to ham it up so bad he made William Shatner look like a subtle, understated actor.

Planet of the Apes is the pinnacle of Heston's overacting career!

great sound clips from the movie:

If I happen to catch the beginning, I am compelled to watch until the 'You damned dirty ape' part! Nice 'Solyent Green' quote there Chacal.

If I were Will Smith I would look at following in Heston's footsteps to be a plus. Compared to Heston, his performance will be reserved and nuanced.

I was thinking War of the Worlds too, but still I can't wait to see this movie. Will Smith is a very good actor in my opinion.

The 1954 sci-fi/vampire novel "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson has now been filmed three times: as "The Last Man On Earth" in 1964 originally scripted by Matheson himself (which I have never seen), as "The Omega Man" in 1971 without the vampire elements (which I have viewed three times), and now with the original title and expensive sets and special effects. This time the seemingly sole survivor of the worldwide pandemic Robert Neville is played by Will Smith who is an actor with real charisma and charm and considerable box office appeal who has beefed himself up for the role.

I AM LEGEND and Pursuit of Happyness are both great movies. Two totally different ends of the spectrum, but both really good. I guess IAL was a remake. I cant remember what it was called, but I think it had Charlton Heston in it.

I'm not a big will smith fan but IAL i will admit was entertaining. Capturing the loneliness of smith in the beginning was done well best i remember. My buddy thought they should have done more with his "alone" time. The "infected" looked good i thought as far as makeup, cg or whatever was concerned.
