RTCW and Windows 10

Hi all,

I know the ECGN RTCW server, \connect 64.237.36.250:27960 still works. My son and I had a dual on it tonight.

Problem, I had to use my old Windows XP box to connect.

I tried, but can not get my new Windows 10 box to connect.

I did a clean install, off of the original RTCW CDs, not working.

How do I get RTCW to work off of my new Windows 10 box?

Forgot to mention, Punkbuster kicks me.

I did a lot of things to get Punkbuster to work.

Ideas?

You will also want to make sure your pnkbstrA.exe and pnkbstrB.exe programs are setup to "Run As Administrator" in the file properties. I think I even set mine up to run in Windows SP3 compatability mode. They should be in your SysWow64 or System32 folder depending on Windows 64 bit versus 32 bit.

The instructions given to me at: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26211
didn't work.

Installing the 1.4 mod barfed. It gave me website to get a file and the website doesn't exist.

The important files were rtcw-pb.zip and pbsvc.exe.

I was able to drag and drop and copy of my old RTCW directory to my new box. After reinstalling Punkbuster, using the above 2 files, everything works great!

I was running XP, and I'm still coming to grips with UAC and virtualstore, but I can join the ECGN server and play!

Yes windows 10 pro 64 no issues with any game, including RTCW.
