BF:V #2 - why the constant kicks?

Sun Mar 28, 2004 11:08 pm

11pm EST. I was kicked 3 times in 10 minutes.

Why? I've just logged onto the server. I haven't said a word, my handle is "Cougar" so it isn't like my name is offending.

For being recommended to this server by a few coworkers (including an admin) the constant kicking is getting tiresome.

You might be getting kicked for ping....

Yeah it has to be something else. If you were kicked three times, you most likely would have been banned.

Ya I think you get kicked if you ping over 270 or something too many times. The bot will get 'ya

Also might be a problem with Punkbuster - have you played on other servers with no problems?

Mon Mar 29, 2004 10:09 am

My ping is usually below 25 on that server, so ping isn't a problem. Nor was I experiencing abnormally high ping/latency from my other gaming ventures last night.

I played on the server earlier in the day for an hour or so with no issues... then tried at night and was getting kicked. So unless something changed with Punkbuster, gives me something to look into debugging.

But no, I don't play on other servers.

Was this on the # 1 server or the # 2 Vietnam server?
i checked the logs for the BF # 1 server, i don't see your
name any where. if it was on the # 2 Vietnam server a
member of the staff might need to help you. (i don't have
access to the logs for # 2)
good luck

I know some people (Sgt. Quentin particularly) have had problems with Punkbuster trying to authenticate itself. I'll try to find the thread where this was brought up.

EDIT: found it, check out Quentin's tip at the bottom, see if that helps.
