Banned for name bing "." maybe. help

Hi guys

Just got on to ECGnetwork and i love it.

I was trying to play Bf 1942 today and it said Iam
banned ... I been using "." for a long time
so maybe thats whatgot me banned. dont know.

please help.

looks like you were banned by an admin on 2/26/2004 02:51:00 while playing bocage. the admin involved will be able to elaborate.

your up and running zuloo please read the server rules and stay away from the "." name.

Sorry if I jumped the gun on someone elses ban. He has been playing with us on BF:V and is a stand up player there. and it has been three months.

please NEVER use "." as your name. you must have a 3 character limit

zoolu, your reason for using such short names may be
different than the way we look at it. we prefer players not
to use short names just to get an advantage over other
players. thats the reason for the three character minimum
limit. we some times kick even with 3 or 4 characters if the
letters look like they might give an advantage to players.

In fact... I'm the one who banned you. I and other admins here regard someone using '.' or other single characters for their name the same way as someone using an exploit or cheat. It's a ban on the spot in my opinion. Since you came to these forums, explained what happend, asked nicely and have a rep for (now) decent play....Welcome!! :beer:

BTW, Congrats!!! You are the first and only guy that I know of in the last year and a half that's used the name exploit to ever visit the forums and ask to be unbanned!!!

I did not know about the disadvantage to
Using it.
