Admins have too much power

Well it seems to me that there are tons of complaints against admins and their booting privileges. I only have one question. What the hell are they doing??

I'd like to say that many times, they are just booting idiots who spawn block. Well since wolfenstein is a game where people can only win as a team, it would seem prudent that the whole lot of players should be able to vote kick a person out of the server on their own.
It can be argued that kicking spawn blockers is good, but I would like to contest that point. FIRST OF ALL, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET SPAWN KILLED ON THE SERVER, GO BACK AROUND OUTSIDE THE BUNKER INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH THE TRENCHES. We all know about those panzer pussies that kill you with the panzer in the trenches. It is a horrible waste of a game with that kind of stuff. See, if there were spawn blockers, people would think to go around by themselves and PROBABLY END UP ALIVE A LOT LONGER THAN 8 SECONDS. But my most important point of all is that we should keep all those newbies because there will be more players on the server. I seem to notice that we have lost a lot of players recently due to ET and other factors, but I don't like it when we lose like 25 % of the players because they had a bad booting experience.

The only use for admins is to get rid of really annoying cases, like people who are racist. Or those people who purposely block the doorways. However, WE DO NOT NEED ADMINS TO BABY SIT US ON THE SERVER. They are just keeping all the new players away from the server. I don't think they were suppose to do that in the first place. ARE NEWBIES TRULY THOSE BAD PEOPLE THAT RUIN YOUR GAME FOR YOU?

I would like to add in this thread how at one point I was myself, a victim of Admin abuse. I did not swear at the admin. I TAUNTED HIM WITH THE COMMENTS of "I WILL PUT MORE BULLET HOLES IN YOUR FAT JUICY ALLIED BODY". Well I don't know how that is so offending that I could get banned for saying it but i did end up getting banned. Is it really an admin's right to BAN SOMEONE FOR SUCH A COMMENT? I've heard of people calling Admins stupid or fags or whatnot, and they deserve to get booted or banned because admins have a code of respect they need to hold up. But I do not like how much power they have. LAST TIME I PLAYED ON THE SERVER, I KEPT KILLING THE SAME OLD REGULARS. WHERE ARE THE NEW PEOPLE? THEY GOT BOOTED AND NEVER CAME BACK. Seems to me I am going to do the same thing.

As a final note, I think that admins should be more warningful rather than get their hands messy with all the booting.

Hung, how many times do you have to hear that you arn't banned? You recieved a temp-ban. Temp for temporary. I personally went through the ban list today and didn't see your name on it. If you are unable to connect at this point I'm not sure what the reason is. It is not due to a ban.

Beach is far from losing ground. It is consistantly within the top 3 most populated servers in Wolfenstein across the entire planet. Out of all the servers, out of all the maps, out of all the mods, ECGN Beach 24/7 is always right at the top.

One of the reasons for that is that the admins try to keep the game running smoothly. Which means kicking blockers and tards etc. A kick is not a permenant ban. I kick the first time, then give incrementally greater lengths of time on temp-bans to repeat offenders to the point, with a very rare few, that I drop a few into the permenant ban bin.

12 guys spawn and try to rush out the door. One guy blocks them. I kick the blocker. 11 guys continue on to have a good game. Those are good averages. 11 happy players and one disgruntled one.

Just because you feel targeted unjustly by one isolated incident does not mean that all admins are behaving like power hungry demons all the time.

Truthfully, speaking for myself, I have bad days. Normally I filter out my own feelings when admining and do the job neutrally. There is the odd time when I'm just not a happy camper and someone sets me off the wrong way. Perhaps I'm more heavy-handed then I would normally be. But ya know what? I'm human, not some auto-kick bot that has an auto-kick feature if it detects you in a doorway longer than 3 seconds, or detects people trying to push you more than 3 times.

You pissed an admin off. You're not banned. End of story.

I haven't played this game, but I play a lot of BF1942, and we NEED admins, because idiots that NEED to be kicked can wreck entire games, such as driving aircraft carriers off of a map.

the gameplay is much better on servers where there are harsh admins, because smacktards are kicked once they so something 'smacktardish'

Wolf is less dependent on key positions/vehicles than BF, but I am for stronger admins if anything... if it was me, I would kick people for purposely doing boneheaded stuff, like running around in the WR with the docs not realizing they have the docs... terminal stupidity should be a kickable offense...

Hey, you make a mistake sometimes, sure, but blatant shit like that and you should find another server IMO... this place will survive and do better without dumbasses... and *gasp* those same people might even learn and not be dumbasses next time! Nah....

I agree, maybe not to the extent of Rule of Wrist.

Admins. do a very good job in keeping out the people who just want to be annoying. Without people like Lord Zog, Shipwreck and Keekanoo, the gameplay would go down alot.

Well in response to the recent replies to my thread, I would like to make a comment about what you guys said. First of all, you guys say that I complain too much. I would like to fix up your perception on what I do on the server and what I said on the forum. When I play, I do not whine and complain about the game, I do not care about people who go around outside the bunker. What I do in the game is to give advice for those who complain about blockers whenever admins are not around. And what I said on the forum about how I see my experience is completely a different matter than MY EXPERIENCE ON THE SERVER. Please remember that I got booted for doing nothing. I did not complain like you thought I did. Maybe for you it was to whine like a baby, but I maturely went back into the server to ask where I could complain in the first place. Hence my apparent ban. Maybe that got fixed up, but when I can't get back onto the server for at least a couple of days, you can understand that is not a 15 minute ban. Zog eat what I lead. :o
