what's up with the supply dump at the landing?

Have noticed today that there is a pile of weapons at the exit of the landing craft. Is this something new with the server, or are guys (no offense if any girls are playing) simply tossing weapons in the pile and obtaining one after the first kill. It has been a blast these last two days.

i think some people were using \spawnguns when the fun mode was enabled so that could explain the pile of weapons
