Man, even in a village like mine you can get highspeed. Where did you move to be so far of the civilisation?

i live in Texas unfortunately. There is a whole lot of nothing here. Nearest city is like 45 miles away. :freak:

I have no idea if it's any good but you could try this.

Start your own cable company and give yourself a free high speed connection:). Otherwise I dont know how you could get highspeed...

I don't think satellite will work very well for gaming. I can't imagine that they have the latency down to an acceptable speed yet.

Anyone know for sure?

It's not too bad.

The one with the real bad latency was where you used the satalitte to recieve and a 56k modem to send. Now you can use the dish to send and receive and it shouldn't be too bad. (Or so 've heard)

What kind of pings do you get to ECGN servers LordShard? Just curious.

I don't use satalitte but I know people who have and they never complained. And when I asked them about it they said somewhere in the 100-150 range.

My brother lives in Southern Virginia, and didn't have cable modem internet until recently. He tried satalite internet access, from Hughes, (I believe). In a word, it sucked, it will never work for gaming.

Glad to see you back around, hope you get get something going there.

Yup cable is the best :D

I considered satilite awhile back and if there are no clouds, trees, just a light breeze, at BEST you might be able to connect...for gaming? forget it

My uncle had sattalite and had no problems. It took a storm so bad that it knocked the dish off his house before he started worrying.
