Greetings,
Yesterday I was playing as an allied soldier and as I lay there dead I watched edogg (I think) consistantly outshoot and kill the axis, run over to me and revive me switch back to gun and battle it out with another axis, killing him, running back to revive me and shoot it out and kill another axis and then run over and revive me once again this kept on going all with no hesitations on his part. I love the medics that are running with their guns run right over me revive me and switch back to guns so fast without even stopping I don't even see them switch to needle. How is that done? Anyway, besides practice and skill do any of the following give advantage to the player
Scripts and binds
Programmable mouse
Programable keyboard
voice commander
Anyone use any of these?
I remember using voice commander once, it was pretty cool. So, what makes a good player. Oh, and are there really such things as aimbots...or is that just a myth?

well, I never used a voice commander or something, but the trick is to wait as long as possible before you pull out your needle. I grab my needle when I'm 0.5 seconds from the dead body, 'shoot', and pull back my gun as fast as I can (you can do this with standard binds). If you grab your needle when you see a wounded body, you're not able to shoot back if there is an enemy on your path.
That + good aim makes Edogg a good player.

I dunno. Edogg is just insane. Anyone here see that screenshot where he had like 250 headshots in one round? That is amazing. worship to Edogg

Edogg is my idol

so do you use the standard number keys on top to select your weapons? 5 to pull out your needle and then hit 3 to get your gun back?

yes, never use mouse scroll

I hate mouse scroll for pulling out a weapon. 3,5,3 are the magical numbers. I use scroll for zoom in (fov 90, fov 120).

My mouse scroll pulls out my needle when I push it. Nothing I like more than laying there dead and watching someone scroll thru all their equipment.....it just screams noob....lol....I love the games where I shoot very little but revive a whole lot. I was thrilled tonight when I revived 18 with one life. For me that's huge.
There are some really great medics that play on this server and when they are on my team I never tap because I know that unless I'm gibbed they'll find me. I'm not saying their aren't great players in the other classes because there definately is, but I notice the meds more because that's the class I play.

Well, I have a 5 button programmable mouse the new gamer mouse from logitech, and I'm just tryin to figure out the best way to program all the buttons. So far it seems like my fingers and thumbs get all confused in a battle.

I use the mouse scroll to change my weapons. I have the order all memorized so you shouldn't have to wait when you are lying there crippled. What you said Arkaine is absolutely true. I know when I have good medics on my team too and I wait for them. Good points Arkaine.

Yep numbers all the way, I always miss what I want if I use the mouse scroll.

I ONLY use mouse scroll.... im just too clumsy/lazy to actually learn what numbers are what.
Fri Jul 09, 2004 3:41 am
i use mouse scrol, numbers, and somehow didnot do that myself my weapon is on alt..

I've bound the needle to tab and the med pack to capslock because 5 and 6 are just too far away. I also always overpass what i'm going for with mouse scroll (hell i stiill sometimes miss what i'm going for with what i'm used too).

practice, practice, practice...most good players have played the game for awhile...they learned long ago their preference in class and play that class the most...i use the default numbers myself and as a med pride myself on the fly-by stick method....its really like basketball...at first you will probably look at the ball when you dribble....experience will keep your eyes off the keyboard and on the screen....after awhile you just know where the buttons are and you go by feel ....off subject a little, i use a thumball mouse and swear by it....when i built my first pc i started out with the thumball...i have never used a reg mouse and dont see how i could ever learn to, also my 21" screen helps a great deal i think
