Slaughter, lawn question

your a lawn guy right? My front yard is f'ed. We had a major drought last year and my front grass not only went brown, it just kind of dis-appeared, patches of it are just dirt. I want to do it myself, not pay anyone. Should I wait and see what comes back then just kind of fluff up the dirt spots and replace?

Ok, ummmm, if your in Chicago, you have the same grass types as PA, so yes the drought did damage to your lawn, went happened last year because of the drought stress, and compacted soil, the root system in your lawn was not able to recover. Also last season at least in PA, we had a bad Grub problem, if you don't know grubs are the larvae form of the colorful beetles you see chewing your landscape in May, they mate and in August the grub starts to chew on your root system and if not controled, in the fall you can roll your lawn up like a carpet. So to get the lawn back in shape, use a garden hoe (rake) to rake up the bare spots that you have, by a good quality grass seed (usually a good seed is about 1 buck a pound)......5000 square ft of lawn cost about 20 bucks to reseed, now cover the newly seeded area with peat moss, using this will keep the water level in, and protect it from the birds

Lawn care for do it yourselvers is the same cost of having a company come out and do it, besides the service we offer is fool proof, if you get weeds or having issues we can come out at no charge inbetween apps, at the same time if a disease hits your lawn we cover that too, do it yourself, you would have to buy another product to control that.

I have thee best answer for ya King. When I answer the telemarketers phone call I say hello a few times, then SCREAM- YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP I CAN BARELY HEAR YOU!!!! I laughed like hell the other day. Some guy called my house and started trying to hard sell me shit saying that this and that was being added to my phone bill (cell phone) like I had already agreed to it. I started mouthing off after a few minutes of attempting to convey to him in every other way I could think of that I did not want it. HE then warned me that the telephone call was being recorded and that I should calm down. Too funny...


I only took the call because I wanted to let off steam, generally I just hang up straight away.

If you want real fun act like a stalker when they call you, breathe deeply, tell them they have a sexy voice, ask them what they are wearing, that sort of thing. Fucks with their heads brilliantly. Nothing funnier that a salesperson stammering and completely lost for words.
