Yes its official , yet another company going after Microsoft. It is said to use a Linux engine but is said to be much more user friendly then many linux models. It is going to be a free OS so only time will tell

wow such negativity from people who have not even tried it. And anyone giving Microsoft a go is nothing but good in my books. If this works for them who knows, maybe they come out with the next evolution of OS. Similar comments were made by people just like you about there search engine when it first emerged. And look at it now!

None of them are all that different it's all just preferrence and custom. I do wish they'd stop trying to attach chrome to every piece of software I download though. The marketing gets on my tits...

I'll take MS over Google any day of the week. MS are the sole reason computing has accelerated at the pace it has - zero competition, standardised platform - it's been brilliant. Google on the other hand are jsut horrific.

I do wish that XP was open sourced and the same guys that have made linux so good would do the same with XP. I love Linux servers, but I have never got to grips with their UIs. It's a shame.
