Just to clarify something, because it annoys me when people get it wrong...
It's 'to wank' as in to masturbate and 'wanker' as in one who masturbates. A wank is therefore the action of masturbation.
An item or indeed if you so wish a person can be 'wank', as in not very good but they cannot be 'a wank' because that makes no sense, it is also less rhymical and so far less amusing to chant at a football match.
If you're going to steal our swear words at least get it right
If you're English and using it wrong then I expect you to be on the next ferry to France where you can live out the rest of your life hurling innaccurate abuse at those cheese munching surrender monkeys where it won't matter.

Well like so many slang words it can be used to mean many things. It is a very versatile word just like mince , pants , bollox and so many other delightful words jesse off looking smeg eating mong!

carriageway is only ever used in conjunction with dual for 2 lane roads. No-one ever uses it on it's own.
Our freeways are called motorways, because you motor down them and because you paid for them with tax so calling them 'free' would be stupid
