I am banned after not playing for a long while?

I'm really not sure what's up. maybe some glitch? I've always been a clean player, and I truly don't remember getting into any rough spots with anyone on ecgn. I usually play as gigakiller. I think I initially got kicked for being named wolfplayer (as a result of re-installing after a long time) and now it seems I'm perma-banned? If you guys need my GUID to unban or something please let me know. I just wanna play some beach

okay so it seems that I am not banned, but I am having problems running wolf multiplayer on my 64-bit vista. I can't enable punkbuster. last night it was enabled and then a pb update came and the server kicked me and disabled pb. and now I can't enable it. I tried manually updating by putting three .htm files from evenbalance.com in the /pb/htm folder like it instructed, but still no dice. I figure maybe one of you guys should know how to get wolf to run on vista since you've stuck with it over the years.

can anyone help me out?

Game has to be run as admin.. right click icon and click on run as admin if it not listed there just go to properties and compatability and click on run as admin..
update pb..get pbsetup run that.. ok the last thing i had to do was to get pnkBstrA and PnkBstrB exe ..for some reason it wasnt on my computer..once i did that i was good to go..This was on vista 64..hope some of infor helps ..moe

where can I download pnkbstrA.exe and pnkbstrB.exe?

okay. I ran pbsvc.exe and that is supposed to take care of those two processes. I still can't enable punkbuster. I open my multiplayer client, click punkbuster disabled, choose yes I want to enable punkbuster, and then it just stays disabled. this is the stupidest thing to deal with.

You need to download the 'pbsetup' on www.evenbalance.com

Install it, then check for updates for Rtcw

After that, you should be able to enable pb again!

I ran pbsetup again. it updated, but I still can't enable punkbuster. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling wolf. last time my pb stayed enabled for a while. maybe it only glitches to that after failing once? I'm not sure to be honest. I wish I could just play the damn game already.

which version of the game are you running? We did a reinstall not long ago and had similiar problems. I had to do the 1.33 full then the 1.41 full before it would let me enable punkbuster.

It didn't like the lite installs, but I know i've used them before...

As stated above, on Vista you need to 'Run as Administrator' by right-clicking on your RTCW icon.

Download/run PBSetup from:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Look in your config for cl_punkbuster...make sure it's set to 1.
Or bring down console and type:

\seta cl_punkbuster 1

Quit game and restart.
