ok so here's the deal. panzers used to be unlimited, and it caused the game to be extremely gay. every idiot (dr death, kman, mr dogday,
etc) would panzer. people saw this to cause imbalance and reducing overall fun for the majority of players
this thread is the same concept but concerning the mausers. so any given night there are 2 or 3 players on the server who play allies only (lately wohin and some true soldier jabroni) and sniper all game - in and of itself a violation of server policy. add in a 3rd player and allies basically plays 3 players down. allies usually gets destroyed when this happens and then people complain about the teams while these losers sit out on sniper hill and shoot at axis not firing back. the map MP_Beach is designed for a variety of shooting. long range at the beginning, beach to base. mid range at the mid point (trenches to base), and close quarters (basement) towards the end
i raise the vote/suggestion to limit the # of mausers to 1 per team. it is a simple fix and only really negatively affects the first 3 minutes of a round until the walls are blown, instead of teh full 20 minutes these losers are sniping for. if they want to play a game when nobody else is shooting back then perhaps they should play single player.

you really want wohin? sniping as opposed to flessan, skibb, huggy, and the other players here that know how to aim? You cannot help the fact that morons snipe all game, but at the same time, you cannot always pick who your sniper is going to be. Great concept, but you don't have the IQ on the server to pull it.

how about just change the goddamn map and it's not a problem.
also, caffeine cries when players go sniper on their last life as allied. if i'm allies and my lives say 0 i'm going to snipe because it makes more sense than rushing in, getting killed, and waiting 3 minutes for the next round.

I'd be more interested in removing panzers from small games. On Pappa's Tram Server, we had a 6v6 limit, below which panzers were not tolerated.
I've just left a 3v3 where someone called Source was happily panzering away at Allies who had spawned on the beach a few seconds earlier. I think:

And that's the main reason most people come to play, "fun". Obviously selfishness on the part of some people will remove the "fun" for others. Hence a stricter panzer rule would be welcome IMO.

Ya.. source(Paco's Gun) is an ass when he's bored. Mofo (Ne!n being the Current derivative) isn't the most fun either.. but, meh...
(and, everyone has quit playing against the both of them tonight... If you have that much damn skill at this game, play against each other for some competition... If you get enjoyment from "raging the face" of those well below your level, find something else to do)

lol. a) ecgn is the only server b) those players have a right to play like anyone else c) i have no problem playing against them and killing them d) the fucked up antilag, shrub and overpowered medics with short spawn times is what allows those players to dominate

I agree with you caffeine. Same thing for unlimited flamethrower. This weapon is extremely gay, and people using it often have the most teamkill ratio of the round.

...at the same time, having multiple mausers is sometimes the only way to break open a game that's become one-sided due to top-skill players teamstacking on axis: This happened a couple nights ago where teams were balanced in numbers, but not skills, pinning Allies in the trenches. Three of us went Mauser and ran back to the beach to force Axis off the upper base and from the windows where they had taken up camped positions. The round still went to the end, I think, with Axis winning, but at least it became more of a 1v1 battle fought on upper base, in the basement, etc. than a shooting gallery for Axis.
Yes, ideally, players like WhoIn wouldn't snipe for 25 minutes and I agree that's annoying. But I think allowing Allies this advantage is a more realistic way to manage Axis skill-stacking than any alternative (like forced !setteam, or shuffle + team locking).
Besides, Unlike the panzer, sniping is naturally pretty limited: You have limited ammo and are usually far away from an LT, you can only shoot one person at a time every few seconds, you're more likely to wound than to kill, gibbing wastes ammo and is sometimes impossible depending where your victim falls, and being scoped means you're vulnerable to be poisoned/stabbed/etc. by an axis who runs out onto the beach.
I think it's unlikely Man-At-Arms will change this setting.

Half the times Allies would never get out of the trenches without a sniper.
Allies being shorthanded? How many times I'm on the hill and have 3 Axis tied up on the beach trying to get me.....
No use after 3 minutes?
Only a sniper and Lower spawn campers can see how many Axis never make it up the ladder when docs are taken.....BIG help to the Doc Runner....

I wasn't panzing because I was bored, I was panzing because the other team had one when the teams were swapped and I just happen to get more kills with it then whoever they had.
Also, I don't know mofo and I'm not going to yawn people that are aliasing to see how balanced the teams are when I join. There were less people on allies, so I joined allies. That, and I like to grief col_frosty and eli.
