Enemy Territory problems

Someone please help!
I set my system oprtions to 'fastest', closed as many programs as I can, and even still I get choppy-ass lag. I have absolutly no lag problems with RTCW, but in ET it's a different story for some reason.
Its not the kind of lag where you'd run but not go anywhere then suddenly be on the opposite side of the map, and I dont get disconnected. It's the kind where you cant shoot straight and you miss everyone and everything you attempt to destroy. Any suggestions?

framerate? btw..whats ur ping on the server that ur being screwed over on?

Err.. I havent really looked. I dont really have a specific server I go on in ET. Just whatever looks promising. Ill go check the ping though.

Ping is between 20 - 80.

Yea.. I go on different ones every time I load the thing... -confuzzled-

try a server with PB OFF, that screws me over a lot.
btw, try this, set ur res to 640x480, it sucks, i know, but it helped out my choppyness

now ET requires a faster broadband line, with my dsl I get now 250-300 ping, though I only play the game with 800x600 and maximun detail.

if you know how to play on a teamwork then you are gonna love ET.
If the enginner is the class that you think it was designed for you, you are gonna love ET
If you only want to have fun fragging enemies and shooting everywhere including teammates just play RTCW on Beach server and stay away from ET
You especially love playing as a medic and think all the remaining classes suck then stay away from ET

ET is good but 24hour beach is better
