...since the stats won't be reset (i think/hope)
it's been discussed before and i'm not really sure if it's possible. But 30min is practically 1 game. maybe 90min? dunno
be nice to see that 1st page w/ rankings and stats for players that i actually ever see on the server
*sulks off to work*

I'm a little confused as to what your asking, String. Are you suggesting that there should be a running daily tally of all the best players, regardless of them actually being currently on or not?
Kind of like, 'best medic = most revives/health given per hour' type thing.
Speaking of which, and I know its off-topic. I think there should be a head-shot 'best-player'. Headshots are one of the most important things in the game, yet no one cares much about them.

To raise the min. time on the stats page would, I am guessing, require alot of recoding. Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt it.

Yes that is a great idea I love it, that would be cool.

no nothing radical Keek- altho I like your Headshot idea
Just meant that the player rankings and stats, right now, only require that you play for 30min to get your stats posted, so they're filled w/ players who have inflated stats b/c they played a decent game for 45 minutes 4 months ago.
not a complaint at all. the stats rock, of course. But I read someone else's post about it in a different thread and agreed, so I thought I'd take the chance to hit that "New Thread" button
btw- 50 Melonshots in a game today. too fun

When I used to play Quake, the server just game round by round best of's. But there was a world-wide stat-collector connected to the games which kept a running total of everyone's skills. It was way more basic than what Shrub has put together, but I like how it kept running totals as a comparison. For example, it did offer 'best hour' stats (or some such time) but it also gave 'best avg performance' -- and that was what most people paid attention to. I've had games where I've lucked out and killed like 30 people in 2 minutes. Every nade kills someone, and it seems everyone I come across was almost already dead so one or two shots takes them out. It's fun but not an accurate assesment of my average performance.
Unreal servers usually kept an on-going tally for that day. So the 'best of' category just showed highest scores during the day at certain things. Kind of neat to see your name on the ledger all day, but again, not a realistic portrayel of actual skill.
Head-shots....gotta work on getting those up. For those that don't know...you can check your in-game per/game running tally by typing /stats in console. It only shows what you've achieved in one game, not your over-all stats.
There's a bunch of us who have a little in-game competition going with headshots....anyone can join in on the fun. Typical avg head-shot counts in a 30 minute game are 45 or so. I try for 80-100 as axis, 40-60 as ally. If you want to practice them, go down the murder hole way as axis and target-practice on the noobs trying to take the 'hole'. If you're more skilled, free-float around the upper bunker and go after the experienced players.
Super-string--I can't believe you don't get many headshots. I'm constantly losing to you in one-on-one fights. Same with Zog. He doesn't get many headshots at all, but every time I come across him, I feel like he's got his mp40/Thompson rammed into my guts. The guy hardly misses.
If you're a complete psycho, try using the sten for a few days. I feel like doing a dance-jig everytime I kill someone with it, the damned thing is so hard to master.
Keek.

hey! i was happy to get my 45-50 per game

thought that was pretty good until i heard about the 80 or more.
not sure why my HS counts per game aren't higher Keek- i float around a lot on the Upper Base like you do (where all the heavy dueling happens)
and i like to think i can hang w/ just about anyone 1v1 but since i've started paying attention (this month) i haven't seen my HS count go over 50 even in optimum HS conditions (Medic on Axis vs many Allies w/ white names). i wanna spec the next person who gets 80+ HS just to see what that looks like
i like checking out the ecgn stats for Headshots on my player page. shows up when comparing players also. Think mine (in % i'm guessing) is about 8.5
and i like the sound of that daily register of players and avg performance ratings.
