Different aliases used by the same player

Hi everyone,

I was wondering why so many players have almost as many aliases as they have kills? Wouldn't it be easier, to recognize them, you, that they keep playing with only one name??

Just a question...

Lol, I've killed 15,000 people, but I only have about 7 names ( ToD, TourofDuty, etc.).
But I think people use other names because they were at first not in a clan. They do it just to be funny, they do it because of a subject ( Saddam, Osama), or they do it because they don't want to be recognised (atleast, this would be my arguments to do it).

Like shipwreck said, if you look up my name, you'll see S.S.{Elite}Tool as well as (>Tool<) <---- which is in all crazy ascII then there is seige, seige was a friend that came over to my house and I didn't want all my friends PMing the hell out of him so I had him make a name, I don't know what else is there but I'm just giving you ideas. and (>Tool<) was my independant name, then I joined S.S. a while ago and S.S.{Elite}Tool it is.

i have a number of different names but most are only half completed like
{As and {AsB}Dr and what not.

I know i goofed of way to much with my name, and messed it up a lot of times as well. . .Hah, I remember when I used to go by versions. Trebor v2.0 Trebor v3.0 Trebor v4.0 I even tried the symbol deal (-trebor-)... Chances are I'll change it again, maybe doctrebor or sheik
