Sound Problems

My computer's sound isn't working, and i went online to get new drivers for my Sound Blaster Audigy Audio and after installing them, my sound still doesn't work. When i try to play wolf i freeze about 5 seconds into opening the server and going to into spectator mode. Anyone know how to fix the problem or have any links?

I am not sure how computer literate you are but I'll give it a shot.
Most houses come equipped with a feature called "wall holes" aka an "outlet". What you want to do is pick up the thing attached to your speakers. Should look like a long black string with two pieces of metal at the end. These are called prongs. The whole thing is called a cord. Line up the holes of the wall holes and the prongs on your plug and stick it into one of these wall holes. It may take a few tries to line it up perfectly but with some practice, you'll get really good at it.

Or you could just try removing the card from your device manager. Reboot the computer and reinstall from there.

Make sure that the speakers are all hooked up right, and that all cables are pluged in securely. from my experiance 99% of teh time the problem it a cord nto plugged in, or something is not plugged in right or is loose.

i hosted my own server and i could play with sound and no problems but when i got back on ECGN, it froze again...quite odd.

ok, 2 things: Ive got a few $10 headphones that broke after 20mins of use... make sure the cables aren't freyed or broken, and that they work on other devices such as cd players etc and if not it makes a great present to someone you will never meet again...
secondely, I dont know what the specifics for your computer are, but if youve got graphics and sound maxed out and your on a "crappy" system than thats the problem... though it has happened to me once that my sound cutt out but s_stop wouldnt fix it, all I needed to do was reinstall wolf.
one more quick thing, if your speakers are slightly "less" expensive, then try turning the volume down at the windows master sound control platform and this might help (you only need to turn it down about 10 - 15%). All this does is it puts less pressure on the soundcard and your speakers, so they crash less.
And of course get the newest direct x drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads...
