I need to buy a new video card. Can you folks please suggest a card that is reasonably price (~$100) that would work fine for playing wolf and other games?

I've posted many many times that NewEgg is NOT the place to shop if you are looking to save money. They always charge more for the same exact product you can find elsewhere.

http://www.pricewatch.com is great for finding cheap deals as it is a website that sorts products from retailers by type AND by price. Yes, NewEgg lists stuff there as well. In my experience, typically http://www.monarchcomputer.com is the better place to find a great price on products. Not always the cheapest but very often so.

http://www.pricewatch.com just searches the net for the product you want, newegg isn't always more expensive. As for using sites that maybe 10-20$ cheaper that pricewatch can find, well if it's worth the risk go for it. You can always find parts on e-bay cheap to, but is the seller reliable, will the product not be DOA? If you want to take gambles go for it.

As for monarch i'v never used it, i'll have to look into it.

I like how newegg stands behind their products, and ships very fast.

Actually, pricewatch doesn't search anything to my knowledge. It screens the companies that place products for sale. It is not anything like eBay in the sense that it is not for just anyone to be listing things there. There is no comparison at all between the two sites.

Here is their page of requirements to be listed on their site.

http://www.pricewatch.com/dinfo.htm

And insinuating that there is some other 'risk' by not buying from NewEgg is silly.

I have been personally doing business at pricewatch for years now and the only consequence I've had is that my wallet is fatter and heavier. More of a burden to me perhaps, but one that I can live with.

Thanks for your help with this folks. I only have pci so I replaced my radeon 9250 and I'm back up. I guess I should look into getting a new computer that supports either agp or the new pcie. Thanks again.

yeah if you get a new MOBO definatly get one with PCI-E because AGP is slowly getting phased out and is getting more expensive. So I would recomend getting a PCI-E one.

Which did you get? They range from $43 to $109. I'm pretty sure they've fallen in price as I thought I paid ~ $200 for mine? Or am I remembering wrong?
