Well I had a look on some old RTCW forums and indeed this was a problem with some versions of 1.0 and 1.1 I know it seems like a pain but what seems to have worked best for others was to install 1.3 first, then 1.31,then 1.32,then 1.33, and lastly 1.41 I am not sure why this is and I do not understand the technical explanation for it but it has worked for others with your problem

yo, it worked perfect. I only had to go from 1.3 to 1.4 to 1.41, also needed to go to punkbusters site and update pb. anyways thanks
