punk buster help

so i've played once and the game and punk buster worked fine. I go to play just now and not only is punk buster disabled, but it won't let me enable it. anyone know how to fix this?

I had this problem after a recent reinstall. The solution for me was to move my PB <dir> to my install <dir>. The RTCW install had put the PB <dir> in the main folder. So I moved it to the install/root <dir>, manually updated it, and then I was able to toggle/see PB servers again and connect.

Edit -- My point, I think, being look for duplicate PB folders, delete the ones not in the install directory, then manually update.

Try updating your pb. Don't need to uninstall reinstall. Re|tard had the same problem.

alright i had to screw with it a bit but i got it working....ugh. hopefully now i can find time to play

well now pb seems to be doing alright but my game crashes very shortly after joining any server. I've replaced my shrub cfg with the default one but not sure what else to do. any help would be much appreciated. :/

Download the PB setup tool from the Punkbuster site. The purpose of the tool is to repair and update any missing or corrupt PB files (for any PB game).

After you run the setup tool you shouldn't have any more problems, if you still do then it's probably because you messed something up earlier.
In that case re-install RTCW and all the patches then run the setup tool before logging on to a server (make sure no RTCW folder remains in Program files before re-installing RTCW).
