ummmm....

I was just wondering if anyone knew any ways that i could try to find my biological father...

i only know his first name.. and havent been able to find anything

if your under 18 you will need your parents written consent to do the search, over 18 you can do it yourself. Speak with the adoption agency in the city where you were born. The laws are different for each state but most can not legally give you the name without the permission of your biological father. But they can send a letter made by you to him, although they screen it to make sure you don't give personal info so he can find you. If both parties are willing to meet they will help facilitate a meeting.
