And all this, for a 14-year-old game - who knew about the technology back then....

euro you should be an admin, active player, nice person, been around since the early 1800s. if you're not already. haven't been following rtcw much lately but trying to play some more these days

Wasn't aware of the round issue since we mostly used gm 5 (obj). Callvote exploit was discovered & solved after 2006 or so in most of the mods but shrub is older so yep, that's a serious issue.

What about creating a rotation config of etc 20 rounds where at final it doesn't end with loop to the beginning but rather executes a config that loads beach map only. That way Admins don't need to be present but simply connect at random time, fire a rotation and leave. Rotation plays it self out and resorts back to single map server after it. That way Admins don't need to run virtual instances at work or whatever but simply fire one command and are done for few hours. Just a thought tho.

I like the idea of it being automated so you aren't obliged to be there for all of it- but the present culture of stacking teams and rejoining would just be even worse with no admin, it would kill the server.

It doesn't solve the issue of assigning lives/timelimits/gametype changes on a callvote.

There use to be the euro warleages server that had map rotation, each map was ABBA stopwatch followed by next map and an automatic team shuffle every time the map changed. The only voting that was enabled was for callvote nextmap. Im certain I can find that server script if I looked and then just tweak it to no voting allowed. In the end I dont think any changes will bring in more or decrease the amount of players still playing. People that still play this game are going to play on this server no matter what changes may or may not be implemented cause they have no choice. Map rotation might make the masses happier but others will bitch that they want beach only, noone will stop playing over beach only or auto map rotation they will still play on the only server left that can be played on. Players still playing though want map rotation for the most part bottom line I know Ill play longer when its different maps cause I get beached out quick.
