Banned every time the map changes?

Man-at-arms is right. My friend meoW recently started playing, and when I had him join the ECGN server it immediately said he was banned.

Mayhem, you should check to see if your Wolfenstein has a CD-key entered into the game. Do this by launching RtCW Multiplayer, and going into options > Enter CD key. If the boxes are blank, that would be a reason why you cannot join.

Next step would be quitting the game, opening your RtCW folder (C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Go into your Main folder. Inside you will find a file called "rtcwkey". Right click it > open with > notepad. This will show you your cd key. WRITE IT DOWN ON PAPER.

Then go back into RtCW multiplayer > options > and enter it. Tell us if this fixes it.

I heard this issue happens with those who have RtCW on steam.

There is a CD key in that file, and i have tried entering it in manually into the game.

it tells me the cd key is valid, but it doesnt stay in the boxes?

either way, i am permanently banned for whatever reason now.

scratch that, looks like its working... i dont know what changed, but ill keep you all posted.

make sure you run the game as administrator if your on win7/8

It was most likely the cd key. Just so you know, the cd key will NOT stick. This is due to the game no longer having a master server (when the developers took the game offline). So, once you quit the game, you will have to re-enter your cd key in order to join the server every time. This is why you should write the cd key down

make sure your name is not wolfplayer or n00b they are band.

look for your cd key folder make sure it is right and make folder read only in properties so it will not get emptied on exiting rtcw
