this sucks

RTCW and other online games are lagging like crazy. Its to the point that i can barely play, yet everything else internet related works great. i was wondering if anyone else here has had this problem. i wan't to play!!!

My friend. Always give system specs. You can surf easily but if you have a poor vid card or not enough RAM or any of the other fifty items that can effect gaming we need to know.

Get a gig of RAM and an ATI 9600pro or higher then come back. If your on a 56k modem, forget playing online. Enjoy singleplayer.

sorry bout that, i was just frustrated. my computer is up to par (at least good enough): amd xp 1.5 ghz, 64 mb ati 9000 pro, 384 mb ram, cable internet connection. I've never had a problem with this game. i've been playing for 6 months or so. all of a sudden it just starts lagging out of nowhere. It did the same thing with the Halo demo. everything else is fine download speed is fast, my roomate is not useing kazaa or anything else. it seems to ping fine before i join (30 to 50 on ecg) but when i play, it all goes to shit.

you might have some application running in the background that is causing your lag.. i'm not to familiar with windows, but start up MP in normal, non full screen mode. then bring up your task manager and go through it looking for things other then MP that is hogging your CPU and RAM.. even having an email program running in the background can cause lag.

Contact your isp and ask them if anything is wrong. Your connection might be timing out for some reason.

i'll do that, i've brought my puter to a friends for the weekend so it's doing great.
