I was a regular on the server last year, but obviously things have changed. I see now that if Nazi Killer and Paul Henrichson are regulars on this server than I want nothing to do with this server. It's sad to see a server and forum community go from a fun past time where people can exchange ideas and talk (when it was OC48Gaming) to a server and a forum where most good posters have left and only a few nasty individuals remain to act like snobs for no other reason than to be vinidictive. But, thats life!

well with under 20 axis lives there is gonig to be camping galore and sniping galore on allies, it will completely take the objective out of the game, im not being a snob im telling you how it is. Less than 20 lives for axis and 30 for allies will make everyone camp, panzer or snipe.

I would have liked to vote for 20 Axis and 35 allies
I think thats 5 less lives for every one. If that means that Panzer noobs skull out faster so be it :)

IMO the spawn killing that Axis are known for against the Allies would be solved by increasing their respawn time to 20 or 30 seconds. "

was increasing axis spawn time an option either??

and no limits on soldiers and lt's. Next are u going to want to give lt's a full bar when they spawn??? Does anyone else see a problem here??? the axis wouldnt need 5 lives to wipe out all the allies.

Yea that is life, but most people who take the time to get to know me get to like me, but thats them. Its also hard to tell who "old regulars" are when they use different ingame names. Since I didn't think you were a regular of course Im gonna talk smack about someone I thought had no idea about the server. You can still think of me as a "nasty individual" and a "snob" if you'd like, but I don't feel the same way about you, and if you take offense to my comments then you are too serious and shouldn't take me seriously next time. Your still stuck in the past this isn't oc-48 gaming anymore, people have left, server settings have changed, and yes some of the new regulars are "snobs".

And on a side note I started playing here last November, and registered in July.

Nazi Killer: I read what you said and some of it made sense. I don't want to make things personal, so I will just say there are no hard feelings.

As far as this thread goes I really dont care what the server settings are. I play RTCW increasingly infrequently due to time constraints, and other interests, yesterday I had some time during the blizzard to post on the forums about something which doesnt really concern me anymore, and I guess it took someone else to point that out to me. Anyway, if I see you on the server there are no hard feelings and remember, just have fun.:wall: ;)

I'm still here :D

I voted 20/30. I know I nade-spam a lot, especially at the begining of a game when I'm more likely to find targets at predictable places. However, if I had less lives--I'd be less likely to put myself in a position where I can get hit by an enemies nade. If I'm in range, they are in range (with exception of height advantage which is cancelled usually by snipers).

20/30 works with 2 fausts. More fausts, more lives.

I think the server is running well now. Only change I'd suggest is decreasing the med charge rate. It's hard to take one out unless you're good at head-shots. That means lots of people expend lots of ammo--which means they go after Lieutenants for ammo, and as we all know Lieutenants can barely feed themselves. Honestly, there's been a bunch of times I won't even bother to go after a med as I know it will cost too much ammo. And I'm getting handy with head-shots; what must it be like for people who arn't?

And yeah, I recognize El-cid from when I first started. He used to play a lot. Enough to have as valid opinion as anyone else.

With respect, Paul--you're usually a bright guy, but I gotta say on this one you're way out. I've played on servers where there are very few lives and people just get better at avoiding getting cheaply killed.

Beach is partly the way it is because it attracts a lot of noobs due it's sheer population, and partly because it's been geared to staying on a noob skill level. Pamper people and they turn soft...

Play on locked-box or Rudy for a spell and you'll see a whole new level of playing--and that's mostly due to limited lives and more realistic med-charge rates.

Beach is cool, mostly because of the sheer chaos and numbers. And there's a big range of skills there... I've gone from tapping 3 head-shots into a noob, kind of feeling sorry for him then suddenly some tiger will bounce in like Militant and beat the snot out of me. lmfao....I get a kick out of that every time.

A 5 sec respawn time increase wouldnt be bad, might even help with the log jams at certain times (ive witnessed 2 respawns while someone was blocking) add 1 perfectly executed faust shot and you know result. i voted 25-35
fausts are fewer, but dyno spam rising.

I agree w/ Keek the 20/30 lives scenerio will not make it into a sniper/ panzer war. ND80 Rudy demonstrates although people will be camping when their lives go down:freak: Still it should raise the skill level trying to protect yourself:)

Are you talking about respawn time increase or respawn shield increase? If you are talking about a respawn shield increase, a five second increase is WAY too much. One second or a half-second increase is more likely to work.
