Do you think that air strikes are fair if they spawn kill when you exit the bunker???

Air strikes= cheap spawn killing

Postby #1HiTPoInT » Sat Feb 01, 2003 7:41 pm

Okay, I think that the strikes are really a bad thing. Don't get me wrong... I really think it's okay to have the once in a while occasional air strike, but air strikes right out of the bunker, ESPECIALLY AT SPAWN TIME, is really sick. I think that the air strikes should have something done to them so that they don't spawn kill every second.

Actually, there's a pretty substantial invulnerability time (5 sec?). I've found that I have more than enough time to run from the forward bunker all the way through the trenches if I use my sprint button. Granted, that's assuming no teammates get in my way. Still, there's more than enough time to get to that little room by the base of the stairs. As long as you don't dawdle, you have plenty of time to get out of forward bunker. The only times I ever get hit with airstrikes is when I'm trying to get up to upper base (either by ladder or stair). I actually like airstrikes right next to forward bunker; more often than not they end up propelling me out of the trenches unharmed.

True, but believe me, I use my sprint button all the time. But it doesent matter if you get into that bomb shelter in time, cuz right when you step out, you get gibbed by yet another strike.

Point, there's been recent poll/threads addressing that one. Go check 'em out.

Doug~

Okay, the first post is located in the Abuse section, and because OC48Gaming has many servers, I thought it only right to post it on here.

The second is only based on Lieutenants. It does not mention Air Strikes anywhere in his post.

Lastly, I had no idea that they were posted already. So sorry if I reposted something, dude. I'll try to be up to your standards next time. *is EXTREMELY sarcastic*

Whoa, easy there...

 Sorry you took it the wrong way. I thought maybe you'd find some of the discussion useful.

I guess that's what I get for keeping it short and to the point.:D

Not trying to start a flaming issue, but just the questioning on liking or disliking spawn killing by airstrikes does not solve anything. Everyone usually hates them. It's hard to die from them, but I just hate my sound cutting out b/c of them. Anyhow, it's easy to state that airstrikes suck, but the problem is how to stop it.

I enjoy being an Lt and rarely do I have a problem getting out of a bunker. I know, smoke makes it tough in the open, and that this is frustrating at times, but war is hell.

I don't usually have a predicament getting from the Forward bunker and through into the trenches, (unless there are doorblockers) but if I do die on the way it usually is because I have stopped to revive someone. I suffer more air-strike deaths from climbing up the ladder to upperbase.
Anyway as an Allie, you get your payback when it's your turn to be Axis.
I guess it's something that you've just gotta accept with the game.

Giggles.

I like my peanut butter chunkey. I think it is the only way to go. It is just a texture thing for me I guess, because a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich is pretty boring first off, so you just need the added peanut chunks to liven it up a bit.
I thought that peanutbutter and jelly in a jar thing was the stupidest idea I have ever seen!
I like my peanut butter cookies to have some peanut chunks in them as well.

The bottom line is, I say keep it the way it is. Take the chunks out of my peanutbutter, and I quit eating it.

Its easy mike you change your spawn point to the allied side and end up on the beach, there you can call in fire on the axis and watch the kills. but for most newbies this is just to hard..:) there the bunker problem is solved.

I agree with you edogg, I still however think a good panzer now takes skill with the arc on the shot, and I personally think that the way to minimize this horrible spawn killing with airstrikes is to add about 2 more seconds to invul time, I always get to that last corner of the trenches and my invul goes off and BAMB, gone, thats the part I get hit at more then 90% of the time, so if we could say that allies can make it out of the trenches alive atleast then lt's won't want to throw petty airstrikes in the trenches because it will waste their charge for nothing.
