A lot of great comments on what might be the deaththrow of our favorite game. I would like to think that I was one of the first to cry about things like taking the flag when joining mid-round (and then doing all you can to hold it with the first life). Of specing to wait for a spot on the haxor's team to join. Of trench panzing when the victim's team is 2 down. Of running the docs when the teams are minimal or uneven (I know players who purposefully want to upset players on the other team by doing this). Of having multiple admins on and even though we've been playing Beach for 3 hours and everyone asks for a change, we remain on Beach for whatever reason. Of TKing and then leaving. Of being on the team that just gets raped, raped, raped, then taunted and vchat binds of disrespectful B.S.
Magus makes a lot of great points, and I agree that you can't make anyone do anything on a free online game. It's unfortunate that people are like this, but they are. Heck, at this point in the timeline of the game, I'm sure each of us could instantly think of people we would ban if we had the ability to do so.
That's too bad. It's too bad that there are players who don't think of other players when they play. Not only that, but they intentionally want to upset other players and make them have a bad time. Evil people they are, if you ask me. I have tried to be a player who makes my team better by me being on it. No one argues that I am not a hacker and I am very happy about that.
But RTCW remains my favorite game, and I am very grateful to MAA and all the others who make it available for us to play 12 years later. All we can hope for is that the players who exact these transgressions might read them and have a change of heart. If not, then we eventually will have to find something else to do....

Yes Euro. We all see it happen, all the time- if we'd been on Allstars Server and people behaved like this, the community would support the exclusion of the disruptive minority by admins. As much as I have appreciated the change in mood on the server whilst Silent has been banned, it's the more insidious innocuous things like stacking and flag taking that really make playing on the server a grind- the things where it's maybe not considered bad enough for a ban so it goes unpunished and therefore for the idiots think they have a license to do what they want.

We were talking about it on the server the other night, jokingly, but I think it's a part of the problem- I don't think there are enough admins. There's a large population of europeans who play earlier in the evening, which means there can be hours with no admin on and much misery caused by the twerps. I'd like to nominate Euro as an admin- he's incredibly even tempered, I have only ever seen him act calmly and with great respect for other players. I know it's nothing to do with me, you guys run the server- I just thought I'd offer a suggestion as someone who spends far too much time on your server (me not Euro :))

I have played earlier in the day,, (European evening) if I switch maps,, the server empties. Just sayin. Its not a stone fact,, but this is my experience..and im back to beach next map.

does it more and more in an attempt to upset the player. Then comes on here and says that's not good behavior.....ok...

I'm sure he'd be a fine admin but i have a hard time pretending he doesn't do that because he does it every single time i play with him.

What i'd like to see is either ff off, or people actually banned for mass multiple "accident" or not tks. I had what, two tk's? and i get banned for
3+ days... cool, sure that's fair *sarcasm*

FF off isn't going to happen, so at the least i'd like to see the flamethrower max limited to zero. I've seen it used correctly probably twice a year,
otherwise somebody's just tking and draining with it.

While this is absolutely true. Stuff you do is just as tiring. It's been really nice on the server sans silent.

Yes i'm absolutely the cause of every problem on the server.
I control which team people join and make sure teams are stacked.
I mind screw people into tking, taking docs to some random location so
the team loses, having people join late and take and then defend the flag.
Now that i'm banned for my unbelievable couple of tk's on the almost empty
server during the meaningless game there will never be another problem again.

Don't worry about it too much, i'm sure i'll be dead by the end of the year and you can
all continue in the bliss you now have on a silentless server.

The server has had fewer and fewer players the past weeks because of the crippling ping issue, and constant lag spikes. I don't understand how this is not fixed yet.
You can't blame players for taking the flag when they join the server. Any decent mod should not be spawning axis players there.

It's not that i dont think the rules apply to me.
It's that when other people tk they get a kick, i get a ban, and no answer on when it will be lifted.
It's the double standard and the way i'm perceived.

So tell me, which one is it? They get banned/kicked for purposely tking or they don't. You were banned for going on a rampage and purposely tking your teammates then disconnecting. I guess you and few others think that if you leave and come back 5 minutes later it cancels out the wrong doing you did the game before. You like to message players and complain how bad you think they are or how they should play. I asked you twice what happened and why you went on a rampage. You refused to answer. I guess if you don't answer then you won't have to face the consequences of your actions. Gets tiresome. There is a difference with accidentally tking and raging a teammates face. You have played long enough to know better. With your temper you should just leave when you get mad not just go on a tk spree. Some players have had weeks worth of bans. So don't think you're being picked on. You bring it on yourself.

There are no rules on taking the flag. There are no rules on spawn killing. It is war. Rejoining after a skull is a no no. Joining specs after a shuffle just to join the team you want after the round starts is a no.

Now I locked the last topic because it was starting to get off topic with name calling and personal insults. Euro, I don't appreciate you starting another topic after I locked the last one and this is why most of you get banned for not respecting the admins decisions whether it be in the server or on the forum.

I will leave this topic open until it becomes a flame thread, but for future reference if any admin locks a thread do not make a second one on the same topic again.

Our complaints were about a minority on the server making the games shitty for everyone- and Silent coming in on this post is exactly what I was talking about. I am very glad to see that someone like him, who childishly tks and disconnects, is shown by the admins (MsB) that it's unacceptable for the good of the server- I just wish there was more of it. I indeed have had my posts and threads censored. I have also been banned multiple times. No problem, you are in fact my enemies and this is war. Plus I got to go on a team killing rampage the other night and didn't get banned. :]

However, the reason for this rampage was not one of rage, but of fairness.

Aside from the various lag hacks and general wall/aim hacks, many of the mods and regulars also employ an arsenal of shitties, such as the ability to take the obj at will without actually having to go to the WR and grab them. Upon further analysis, you will observe that many of these anomilies occur regularly during your gaming experience. And this doesn't even include the spy brigade they have on the other team that they use to bleed and tk their enemies.

So I was pubbing in peace with a team of exceeding baddies when the other team decides to deploy a full salvo of hacks. I responded by switching teams and killing a few of them before being kicked for negative points. Given the environment of the server, it seemed a legitemate tactic.

Why is it fine to wait as spectator so you can take the flag? Why the blatant double standard?

You must understand that this is a server for cheaters, by cheaters. Ultimately how you play makes little difference (except having a positive KD despite the hacks) since these people can just hack an obj grab at will and win whenever they please. I have come to the conclusion that this is war and all tactics are legitemate. If they want to promote teamkilling and wickedness so be it. If I get banned so be it. How much more empty can the server get anyway?

This is MSB's ban, and its her alone who will decide it.

The quickest way to make the stupid stuff on the server (ie rejoins) is to point it out to an admin if they are present. We don't see everything. But if a problem free player points out something, 99% of the time I will follow on it.

On map switches. A lot of times it depends on the admins schedule. If I know I have to pick up my daughter in 20 min., I wont switch maps... etc.. My only gripe on map switching is keeping the teams even. The stacking happens quickly so you will see admins shuffle more often to keep the playing field level. But when you shuffle and get donkey source and Bob saget on the same team,,, It makes it rough. We do our best.

It's hard to tell sometimes. It really just depends which admin is on or who you are. I know they aren't posted anywhere on the forum.

No rejoining you say? with shooter, no absolutely, he doesn't allow that. I can't say i've seen other admins enforce this 100 percent of the time.

No swapping after shuffle? again depends who you are. for me? nope, there's usually about four people on ready to shout out everything i do
magus, fat fury, metalsturm, msb. so sometimes people see it and they stop it but usually its unnoticed or people just go spec and then join a team.

finally, i'd just like to say, the complaints in these couple of threads are the same ones i used to voice and i'm called a whiner and a troublemaker
or... problem player.... i like that one. I'm not a big fan of the assumption the one complaining is the problem but i'm often treated as such.
