That chair defense actually works pretty good, someone said in an earlier post that one shot blows the chair to pieces, this is true, and it also alerts the hiding panzer that the enemy is near and when he comes around the corner or jumps for the docs..BOOM !!!! You can actually use the weapon of your choosing but a lot of the TWL Clans used the panzer....

OH WILSON these people dont want no hints from us pro-elite-wolf-players that dont play wolf no more, I mean hell Keek got all his hot play tips from this thread so you know he is above reproach on these matters
well anywhoo try tweaking your graphics for better distance and fps. and the chair d , you might be able to shoot the chair with one shot but in that time a enemy player can house your chair shootin ass in the head and return docs , its all about distracting by any means necessary

On an unrelated theme, I'd like to set up a fund for Fat Tony/ S.S. Anguish. If we all contributed 25 cents, we could have enough money to buy him a keyboard which has a working caps-lock key.
Or, even better, though it would cost a bit more, we could take away his keyboard entirely and substitute one of those game-pad devices. He'd probably find it very good for playing Wolf, but, alas, wouldn't be able to contribute much into the forums beyond 'right, left, run, stop, shoot, jump, crouch, change weapon'.
I too have Canadian military secrets. There are basket weavers in New Guinea that would kill to know some of the knots I was taught.
You're right, Aphid. Regina ...*shudder*... is not a punishment to be taken lightly.
If you use auto-push with precision (ie turning it off when around friendlies) that's a special case. Most I know that keep it on don't give a rats ass the bedlam they cause around them. I did kick Yoda last night--though it was more for his attitude during the discussion than his blatant disregard for team-mates welfare. He's the type to walk out of the spawn with venom in hand, spitting fire randomly. Causes a mess of jostling comrades all through the trenches.
good player hints and tactics there... if you're keen about the integrity of the thread i'd monitor your own posts if i were you.
chairs making a mockery of this thread?? it may not be used as a serious tactic by some, but people use it...i've seen it on this server...i've seen it on other servers. i probably wouldn't have mentioned it were it not for the previous post but i think you've gotten the wrong end of the stick. your rant has taken this thread off topic, so think about what you post next time.
since i'd like this thread to stay back on topic:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
a good way to take people out in the warroom is to prime a grenade while you have the docs. if you're alone, and there are lots of enemies, you're likely to die.
after you get gunned down everyone rushes to the docs to get the 10 points...only to be exploded by your grenade. this regularly takes out 2 or 3 enemies in the warroom, making it easier for any nearby backup to make their move.
Also, if you have a panza, it's quicker to drop it and pick it up, than to switch weapon. This tactic saves valuable time if you're running away from someone.
In the warroom, at the beginning of the game, if you think someone made it inside the base go hide behind the board. They'll sprint in and out, not knowing you're there. You can then rush out and shoot them in the back. This rarely fails.

I don't think I've come across a thread yet which hasn't meandered a bit off course. Please do point one out that hasn't.
Several entries were made here mocking those that might come looking for new tips, or those wishing to share them. Several entries were plain out-right attacks on anyone who plays at the Beach. If you must devolve to this form of absurd insult, at least have the creativity to start a thread in Complaints and Whines. I assure you I'll help keep it going if you do.

Openly mocking other players, then trying to strike the austere righteous pose? You're memory is as good as your wit.

If you die (and remain revivable) on dynamite, it can't be diffused unless you're gibbed first. (playing dead on dynamite should work too).
The height you can get on your jumps is dependent on your frames per second. At fps of 43, 76 or 125 you will be able to jump the highest. It's therefore advisable to set your max fps to one of these (depending on your system specs). Set to the value which you can achieve most consistently. The command is /com_maxfps 43. (replacing 43 with whatever value is best for you). To show if you're jumping maximum height, see if you can jump from the forward bunker door onto the grass. to the left or the right.
When you jump forward, you remain at the speed you began the jump at, i.e. if you jump while sprinting, you will be moving at sprint speed until you land. In order to maximize your stamina, sprint. When your stamina is low, sprint and jump. This will keep you at constant sprint. Sprint, jump and strafing in the direction you're going also gives you more distance.

As an ally. Drop out of the ducts while your panzer is being charged, aim for the cieling directly above the docs, you should take out that pesky venom/panzer/flamer whos hiding on top of the filing cabinent. then prime a nade and throw at the person to the left directly when you pass through that doorway, theres nearly always someone there. most likely a panzer/venom/flamer.
always special weapons guarding the documents there are.. I hate staying in 1 spot guarding something, but at times it must be done if the other team totally rocks mine.

if you are a noob as i was not so long ago! setup your own server and get to know the maps! have a look round see where the best snipers positions are and where you can defend best from or where you should steer clear of
also practice alone jumping and movement skills, for instance go to the war room and practice running from the back room on to the table and up over the rails rather than just running up the stairs, and practice your movement like looking round corners in ducts etc...
when entering the ducts make sure you are switching from looking forwards to looking backwards to make sure you were not followed in and if you see your teamate get gunned down as he go's round the corner look round and see if the axis is hiding or in view and if you are a med lay packs down and sit on them as you shot at the axis also lay packs for other players to sit on as they attack,
as an allied engineer dont place dynamite at the center of the breach place it up the side nearest the sea wall door as axis like to trow nades against the cliff face and these roll down to the center and will kill you, where as it is much harder to place a grenade on the otherside of the sea wall breach
when using a venom always keep it rolling with light clicks on the mouse it takes a while to start it up from could and you will most likely be dead before its ready to roll
as an lt allways make sure your team has ammo before you do (meds especially) you have an almost unlimited supply while a med only has 2 clips! as axis go round and stock up your teamates in the warroom and as allied run backwards threw trenches dropping your guys packs as you go...
also as an allied engineer dont worry about barbed wire it takes off littles amounts of health and the quicker you can get up there and plant that dynamite the quicker a med can top up your health! being an engineer (as i play) is a suicidal job dont worry about whether you die just get the job done as quickly as you can! also once the dynamite has been set go and crouch by the wall somewhere so you can boost anyone over (this will also give you time to change classes as engineers are almost usless after the walls are destroyed)
lt's grenade pack myself and only a few others seen to give them out i have never got a grenade pack from anyone! the command is /gp i suggest binding it to a key as you need to put it in every time
well that should help new players out a bit

\cg_drawfps 1
a good way to find out some commands is in the console.
start by typing in the start eg. cg_
then press tab
it'll show you a list of options
also \cmdlist will show all possible commands
\cg_lagometer 1 is a good one too, showing how well your connection is doing.
