Yeah there is really no hope for gaming on Dish. My friend has it and all he can do is browse when there are no storms or wind.

Hiya,
I'm from Belgium I do have a cable connection via the only ISP that is available over here and still I seem to reach the highest pings on Beach 24/7. (sometimes till 150 - 190!!). This really sucks but I like the Beach 24/7 so much and I don't know if I can hook up ADSL and if so if it is that much better? Maybe other Belgians playing on this server can answer my question.

Unfortunately, you were stuck with dial-up access if you want to play games. Satellite is not very good for playing online games but works excellent if you just browse the Internet. I read some people make the suggestion of DSL because it goes through your phone line; this is true but you have to be within a certain range (usually around 21,000 ft) of a "station." And cable, you COULD get it if you paid for the line out there. Grant it, it would be VERY expensive but just think, you could reach those 3mpbs without any problem.
Heck, no one will ever reach 3mpbs in a residental area.
But it looks like you're moving back to the real world so you will be able to get cable (from what you said) so good luck with everything.

Damnit now I have to start dodging your goombas as well. I'm not even gonna make it inside to get cut up by the wall of venoms.
It'll be good to have you back though.

One option that not many people consider is wireless. It has a high initial investment and you have to have line of sight with a tower (within 30 miles) but I've had really good connection speeds and pings with it. With the company I get it through I've achieved download speeds of around 375 kilobytes per second and can ping constantly around 90ms on ecgn. All for 50 bucks a month.
Not bad huh
