Right i agree the air strike problem on this server is getting ridiculous. There are a number of options.
1. Limit the Lt
Problem with that is some do actually give out Ammo packs, therefore are a needed asset.
2. Limit number of airstrikes
This would solve the problem, but i see people whio don't normally play on this server just lobbing them all at the beginning leaving nothing towards the end of the game.
3. Turn FF on for Air Strikes
This is my favourite option. As i have played on other large servers, with FF on, and there are no way near as many strikes thrown. I don't know however if this can be codeed.

I think that if you would go back to having the medics start out with one clip might limit airstrikes perhaps. Lt's are rarely used for ammo anymore since you can drop your weapon and pick up another. If we went back to the original way of the game where you can't change your weapon unless you are a soldier, and if you only have 1 grenade and clip as medic then maybe the lt's might start giving out more ammo again. I would like to have tried FF on for one night, but it would be to big of a hassle for the admins to deal with. The maps you played w/ FF on were probably market square garden, or another huge map. Beach is a lot smaller, and you'll still have the people who throw airstrikes out the window without even looking.

just like tender vittles has said use the back door.im sure thats BUKKAKE'S favorite. if you cant make it out the front then go out the back. simple as that.
I don't know...that back door idea doesn't seem to sink in with some. I ALWAYS get further that way than going thru the trench.

Oh yeah, I forget who just reminded me, but there are servers who have a limit on air strikes. They kick anyone who spams air-strikes, and believe me... it works like heck. I think that a good limit for air-strikes on the axis side should be 40. It's a fair number because of so many people on the server. So if everyone uses two... that'll finish them off. There just needs to be enough admin. on the server to enforce the no-spamming strikes rule.
Here's another way... we could just limit the strikes to maybe 3-each person. That way no one spams them. That'll probably even reduce the number under 40 because not everyone is an LT.

I am in agreement. At first it was not too bad but it's gotten a lot worse in the past couple months.
Back door works but it is not a very good idea. To beat the Axis spawn time, you have to keep pounding away at them. If everyone is taking the backdoor then you'll never catch the Axis off guard with their spawns. There is also the fact that there is about two lieutenants throwing airstrikes at the top of the ladder too. That means you waste more time going through the back door and dying then running through the trenches and getting it over with.
The problem is not with what lieutenants abilities though. The problem lies with the people who play on the server. It's all about points for a lot of them. They don't care about the documents or giving ammo. They want to be on the top scorers list so they pick a lieutenant. It's just that "ME" mentality. One example pops into my head immediatly. I was down in the war room and an ally got the documents. I died and told the team the guy is going short. I respawn and try to sprint to the radio stairs...first thing I see is an axis lieutenant throwing an airstrike out front. I run past him and go up top. I get to the room before the radio room and look to my right and there is another axis lieutenant throwing an airstrike outside. Why they are not in the radio room is beyond me at this point. The ally guy ran in to the radio room untouched as I could not get there fast enough. What is the point of this story? Well I'll tell you! This problem happens when you get a lot of those types of players on the same team.
Unfortunetly nothing can be done about people like this because they will not go away. I don't like the limiting of lieutenants. The waiting for the bar to fill up before you can throw an airstrike is okay though. However, I'd like to see something like there can only be a single airstrike active per team. Until that airstrike goes off, no other airstrikes can be thrown. Oh well.

Here's my 2 cents ! M.O. (Motis Operandi) of an air strike SPAMMING Lieutenant :
1) Spawns and heads for the radio room.
2)Never gives himself ammo for 2 reasons he never shoots anyone and it would only delay his recharge time !
3)Runs out the door and throws a canister on top of the cargo net above the ladder .
4)throws his 2 grenades down in the stairwell or trench
5)runs back into the radio room and recharges
6)then starts the whole cycle again for the entire game

I've been a big defender of airstrikes. I throw a lot of them, more than half being quite effective. I also give out a lot of ammo. Lately when I play I frequently see my name as being the one to give out most ammo.
This being said, I believe I'm coming around to siding with those who want to limit them. I didn't have a big problem with the frequency of airstrikes. But combining their frequency with them (or artillery, not sure if one or both) now being able to reach me deep inside the trench foxhole presents a real problem, at least in my opinion. That foxhole was the one thing I could count on for respite during the initial (and continuous) chaos of running through the trenches with a bunch of recent doorblockers.
Makes me wonder if dramatically increasing the spawn time would help. It would also benefit medics who are sick of people tapping out just as the medic gets there.* That could be a simple fix that I would like to see work.
*Is it my imagination, or do some people tap out just to keep the medic from getting points? Just a thought...

i have never problems with airstrikes, i do get killed by them sometimes but not very often... and why? i don't run into red smoke :p as allies i use airstrikes too... to clear the upper part...
and actually as axis i never use them... only artillery![]()
I airstrike as Allies just to try to lessen the power of the Axis airstrikes, however futile. I used to always be a med on Allies...until it seemed that few were trying to suppress the heavy enemy fire.
