Gawd I fucking hate that shit.
HP at the very least doesn't run stats and has FF off..
Plenty O' people to shoot in the face on a different map.. I'd love it if ECGN got a rotation or just a better map to be stuck on ... something about 64 beach makes me a dull boy...

Honestly once you get used to the more flowing game dynamic of the CoD games it's practically impossible to get excited about the 2 dimensionality of the beach map. Everygame is the same, axis whore the upperbase if they can get it or the basement if they can't, allies inexplicably gather together for a picnic on the grass at the base of the ladder to the upperbase, and that's about it...

On CoD you can actually steer the battle if you're smart enough to watch the flow of the play. It adds a whole extra dimension because you're not just thinking about how best to maneuvre at a given point but also what you need to do to control the spin of the game to maximum effect. If you play it right you can pin the enemy team, draw them into a trap or just grind them to a standstill.

I do miss the classes in rtcw and wish they had something similar in CoD but the fact that they aren't there doesn't mean there's no team-play. There's more to team-play than keeping some ungrateful bastard alive so he can backrage you to get at your kill :D

Objectives can be fun but they also anchor the game to one point which gets old unless the objective shifts like on ET where the objective was usually a truck or a tank.

I play COD5 here and there, I can never seem to get emerged in it though. what game modes are you speaking of? It seems to me that there are 10 or more game modes and it changes ever map on some servers. So I just go about my business and shoot people in the head. Nobody every seems to use the VOIP to coordinate anything, especially on the scale of things you're talking about. I don't see any sort of battle steering when I play it all looks random.

And the teamwork that made RTCW great is negated by Shubmod and the settings that are used. There is very little team strategy needed in shrub. I haven't played RTCW in a long time... I play shrub every day though.

CoD5 mcsucks. Waste of everyone's time really, not nearly as good as 4.

I generally play hardcore tdm or just vanilla tdm. Can't be arsed with the other game modes. Although I joined and S&D clan so I kind of have to play that though I'm not a fan...

It looks random because people aren't too bright but the spawns on all the CoD games work the same way; They aren't fixed and you spawn at the nearest spawn spot to where the majority of your troops are with the exception of the occasional random spawn designed to throw you off the scent. If you keep and eye on the map to clear out the random spawns before they multiply you can control the flow of play on your own, you don't actually need your team to do anything except be their usual predictable selves. If you're winning you want to make sure things are balanced and that your team doesn't either advance too far or advance unevenly causing the other team to get behind. If you're losing you want to break the game down, rush through the middle and generally slap their lines about a bit so that they can't keep their lines clear. The right few kills can unlock a few minutes of unadulterated molestation :D

I like that random element anyway. It ups the tempo. Kind of reminds be of the old banimod mobile spawns. They made beach a whole lot more interesting.

6 should be better as it'll be made byt the team that made 4. Then 7 will blow as it is due to be made by the team that made 5.

No worries, I went by Game Stop and pre-ordered Call of Duty 8: Redundant Warfare. It should hit shelves this March. And for anybody who has been living in a cave... Steam announced the CoD Octology Box, available in one convenient 97gigabyte download along with a free Tshirt that says "Thank god wars happen".

I already have the perfect PC picked out for it, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRpuMYC6qyE&feature=related
