To solve that "gun to face" mods will probably be made, probably turn off the "veil" as well and we'll have loads of different styles of play.

Heck this version of rtcw has bani, shrub, osp, all noticeably different that appeal to different players. For instance, I didnt know you could use the tesla gun in one of the mods, or be a spy, thats pretty lame in competitoin, but badass for having fun. Im sure individuals would decompile the code and make more "appealing" styles of play to us. I'd be more worried if it only went to the consoles and not the PC's but its going to the PC which is were it was meant to be played.

And I think that gun to face thing is more popular because, its more realistic, and it gives players to be at some sort of equal playing field.

"gun to face" is called ironsights. Not all games' ironsights work the same. In a game like COD, the ironsights are ESSENTIAL to kill enemies that in the RTCW world would be considered 'very close' range. A game like ETQW the ironsights are pretty close to having an FOV toggle script in RTCW.

If Wolfenstein implements ironsights the way COD does... don't hold your breath for a mod that shuts it off.

the down the scope bores me to death, COD is great in its own right, but I don't want to have to be a part of it in Wolfenstein.....Graphics are always nice, but what about the game play...i have this fear MP is gonna suck...all efforts in the SP, but nothing in MP

I see laggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg happened like crazy...but who knows

I don't like it because it crowds the view I mean if you're above anyone you cant see shit on the bottom half of your screen, I might have to start playing w/ show gun off in order to circumvent that problem, and I apologize I had absofuckinlutely no intention on watching some demo of a Vin (I cant get off of fast and furious) Diesel game. And I have no idea how that tesla slow mo thing will work unless they are dumping the amount of players you can have on a server. I'm going to stay optimistic *slaughter* and believe this game will be enjoyable. *in mp*

ugh so that game play looks like every other WW2 game fps out right now (save the crazy weapons and occult magic). The aiming looks sooooo gay - its just like COD. And they also have the melee attack like in games like halo - also something im not a fan of..but its not as bad as the iron sight bullshit. Those cross hairs better be changable too.... ugh im really let down by that trailer

don't forget the movement too. If you watch closely you can see that when you sprint you cannot shoot your weapon. Most likely no sprinting while strafing either. This is going to be a much slower paced game than RTCW.

the console platforms are very important to them with this new game. they have to make a game that sells well in the console market. An RTCW style game will not sell many units in the PS3/360 world.

Ya thats because the console only has like 8 buttons u can use quickly, whereas in the computer version of RTCW u need like 18? I use 18 buttons just for movement and weapon selection, not including binds and other crap. So yea computers have a greater advantage when it comes to player control.

Looks like a better version of cod5 I reckon.

If the aiming works anything like CoD you won't want to turn off the ironsights as they make your fire far more accurate.

I'd assume you can still fire from the hip without bringing the gun up to look down the sights (as you can in CoD) but it will just make you innacurate as hell...

But yes no fire while sprinting. I bet you can do the melee attack while sprinting though. If it's like CoD anyway people die a lot faster than on classic rtcw so you don't really want to be running arround shooting, better to sprint from cover to cover and fire from there.

I really hope they stick with the classes from rtcw though. CoD's fun but there's nothing like the teamplay on tdm as there would be if there were classes and class based objectives...

On the plus side cod5 was a washout (not even popular enough to be played at most big tourneys which have stuck with 4) so this game could stand to pick a big chunk of CoD players. Which would mean at least that the rtcw franchise was back in the saddle. Better the devil you know and all that...

I don't know if this is a typo or not but does anyone know if best buy is getting the rtcw2 shipment sooner than the other stores (7-1-09)?

I worked at retail stores and I know how they do that crap. If the game is popular enough they will hold a mid-night release for the game so people can get it. If not then they will have it available to sell by the "official" release date which is ??? 7/1/09? (Which doesn't make sense because games are always officially released on a Tuesday.) And w/e the official release date will be, the store may have the game a month in advance. I know some stores will sell them before they are officially released. I got COD4 and GTAIV at least a week before it was official (employee). And i know the public was able to get it at least a day. Depends on the store. I wouldn't get too excited though, I would focus on what the wolfenstein site says or the developers because more often then not retail stores like Best Buy or Gamestop will post earlier release dates so people can pre-order, or so people are more likely to go to their stores. Its marketing 101 Section B.

With all that said, fuck retail cuz they are all liars.

Best Buy also said they would have diablo 3 12/31/2008 and Starcraft 2 12/1/2008. Most of them are simple-minded fucktards that try to meet "numbers" at the expense of integrity and respect towards customers. Thats why i quit that shit-infested rat trap. :rant:

Pretty good prediction from back in March...this is exactly what happened. I just completed the SP game, which I thought was really awesome...so I no longer feel like I wasted my money buying this game.

The MP sucks as it is now...it will take a complete miracle to make that mess right...6v6 only, small poorly designed maps (they won't scale up to accomodate many more players), less classes, less weapons, slow movement, dumb Veil abilities, useless XP system (will be maxed out by everyone anyway since it carries over across servers), requirement to sign in to your account to play (I can see this going down sometimes like Steam), built-in aimbot, ESP, and wallhack (for document carrier), terrible player models and animations...Ugh...I don't think they could make it any worse if they tried.

That's a shame over how badly the gameplay as turned out. Sometimes you shouldn't overhaul what worked the first time when it's multiplayer was really hot.
I'd like to thank MAA for keeping this little piece of wolf history alive so we can all enjoy the game for as long as economically possible or interest allows.
