Had my Gallbladder removed in 95 about 2 months after my son was born. The gallstone attacks were like giving birth. Send you some $$ in the next week or so. Good luck to your mom, hope she gets well and things turn around work wise for your family.

P.S. Liquid...You're treading thin ice. Grow up.

|RS|SquareBallz wrote:Just an update, she was taken back to the ER early this morning in an ambulance. She had severe pain and was throwing up about 6 days out, so something was definately wrong. It looks like there could be a bile leak? Not sure what that means, but it looks like another surgery to fix that...

The gallbladder stores the bile made by the liver; it's used in digesting fats, etc. Taking the galbladder out, you'll have less bile on reserve -- fatty and greasy foods will now be a culprit to your mother.

I'd definitely hit up YOOPER on this; I believe he's an actual doctor in the house.

I sent a little your way SquareBallz. I hope everything works out well.

Thank you to all those who helped out so far! The donations will definitely put a dent in medical expenses and doctor visits! She came home today, but still has a way to go. She was leaking bile into her system because the operation wasn't done properly the first time. They had to do another procedure just to fix that. She is in pain and will need to be monitored, but hopefully there was no damage from the bile in her system.

Its hard for me as a Canadian to understand the need for "medical expenses" how outrageous is it for the U.S. the richest country on the planet to be completly fucked and left behind by their government when it comes to health care. That shit should be covered 100% for free. I wish you all the best squareballz but all you yankees should be up in arms over this garbage.

They demand we have health care, but its hard to run the stove when the war machine is running full bore next door.

A bile leak is indeed a potential complication of a cholecystectomy - I'm glad it was identified and fixed.

Best wishes in her speedy recovery!
