using nnc tags

Did you guys ever think it could be a coincidence? Back in the good ol days of Quake 3 arena (best online fps ever period) I used the name Predator X. One day Im just hanging out gibbing fools with the gauntlet and some guy pops in and starts cussing me out and demanding I remove the X from my name because his clan the "X" clan existed. I promptly told him to go F^ck himself and after an hour of me killing him he wanted me to join :rotflmao:

I just laughed in his face .

I think 95% of clans are stupid, even the name clan is stupid. Why dont you do what all the other nerds do and change your name to the leet bs or "l33t" Why do they even need the letters after they're name? Is it like gang colors? I just dont get it. Not a personal attack just my feelings on clans.

true Paul. But Musashi X only wanted to make clear that changing your name for a clan is ridicilous.
My opinion about ripping names:
I've seen so many people with the name 'noob', or 'killer', or 'Raven', etc.
That is no problem for me.
I only hate somebody when the rip a name on purpose. And most of the time to give the real user a bad name.
For the clantags: it can't be accepted.
I would experience it as an insult for your clan.

Musashi X, no offense, but it seems to me that you are missing the point of clans. Its not for "gang colors" or just to have a tag. Its fun to play on a ladder, set up scrims, have people that you know you can depend on ingame, etc. Especially in a game like rtcw that required alot of teamwork, you can make strategies in advanced, use voicechat, etc, which is fun. You say 95% of clans are stupid? Sounds like a statement from someone who does not really understand what a clan is in the first place. Maybe if you did some "research", you'd see that it is more than about "letters after they're name". You said yourself that you "just dont get it"...I think thats pretty apparent from reading your post.

Whatever clan boy. Go cut bigger eye holes in your pillow sheet that you wear on your head. Lol just joking. I get the team idea and the playing scrims and all that other stuff with people you like to play with. But still dont understand where the whole pegging on these letters at the end of your name came from. I mean dont the people know each other or do they need to see the letters to know?

Change the name from clan to something else like squad or team. Lose the letters. And quit the constant recruitment harassing stuff and Ill have no problem with them.

During the S.S. Heyday we had numerous name/clan tag mockers. It was obvious they were being jerks, and trying to attract attention to their feeble selves.

As a regular player I had to endure it, but as an admin I gave them a warning and booted their asses. If they lacked the common sense to change their names before coming back and starting more crap they'd be awarded with a prompt ban.

I did this for any clan that was on the server, even if the clan was just a bunch of guys hanging together for fun.

Hey guys, why don't they just get rid of team sports names and their logos? The players can communicate with each other and do not need dumb team logos and unique team names to tell each other apart.

Sigh...Dont know why I'm replying to this but here goes. I didnt say clans shouldnt have names or logos. The reason players of sports wear unique uniforms is to easily distinguish them from each other duh. In a game do diff sides not wear diff uniforms.. why yes they do.

Well if it was possible to have a {NNC} hovering above your head when you walk down the street and someone chose to do that out of respect for {NNC}, I'd be flattered. However, I would never do that. The reason being that when I am walking down the street I am not playing the game. When I am in the game, I wear my uniform.

The sadder thing is the person who keeps sticking his foot in his mouth about this issue. You have no basis for your arguments. If I did not know any better, I'd think you have a dislike of someone because of the clan they are in. Don't try and disguise it as anything else.
