i just wanna say that both clans did an excellent job, and that they were hard fought matches. I am sorry that there was some miscommunications on how things should have been run. If there is a next time, we will be sure to get it right. I also want to thank mmmmgood and motha for allowing us to use their server. MMmmgood especially for taking the time to be a moderator.
I hope noone leaves this event with any hard feelings.

good game played

Postby Cowgomoo » Sun Dec 08, 2002 9:31 pm

yep, even thought i wasnt in it (never know, might be a next game) i got to see both sides played, it was a truely good game. Sure, some things were messed up, as edogg said, but both teams faught hard, and a couple of the matches came down to the last minute or less. If there is ever another war between us, i hope that all the kinks are worked out, and i get a chance to play :) well, once again, congrats to both teams, and good job SS

Hey SS, GFU, that was a good time. For some odd reason, I think I enjoyed Assault the most. The battles at the base of the comm. tower were awesome and just plain insane.

For the record, there are no hard feelings from me. I think there was some miscommunication near the end that got many fired up. After the second round, Mike and I started clamoring for the server to be set-up to what we thought it should have been from the start. SS thought the match was over and, consequently, that we were just whining that we lost. GFU was unaware that it had supposedly lost and was just asking for a change in he middle of the match. I think that was the confusion at the end. There was also much confusion over what exactly constituted a "round." We were using the standard definition of a round giving you a turn being both axis and allies. I think Elite and a couple others were using some other definition. Dunno.

Whatever the case, it was a fun time and we ought to finish it sometime. It was fun to see everyone really let go and show just how good they are; I was really impressed.

Good job by all..

Postby Lord ZOG » Sun Dec 08, 2002 11:35 pm

It was, indeed, a fun night. There was some confusion, and some mis-understandings about settings and spawn times, and what not...and I can understand anyone feeling jipped or misled, but this was never an official match.

The rounds were not counted properly, but MmmGood was understandably worried about the total length of the match. He wanted to keep things under an hour, if at all possible...taking into account the delays and the late show-ups.

The GFU guys are a great bunch of players...they had a great attack on both the Assault and Beach maps. I think the S.S. guys had some luck on their side, but that's the way the game is played.

Elite did a great job on the tower in the 2nd Assault round...saving my ass for a backup dyno plant. Lazer and Ice did a great job on the beach map...with a few well timed panzer shots and doc grabbing.

This doesn't settle anythihng...this doesn't mean the S.S. clan is better than the GFU clan...it was just a precursor to later action. Everyone did great, I had a great time and did not once feel that GFU was whining or bitching.

We should all thank MmmGood for his contributions...without him absolutely none of this would have be possible.

I've played assault many many many times... and this was the first time ever that I saw then entire both teams near the tower, wow, I got high score that round just for reving everyone and getting revived myself ;) maybe it was the lack of practice of the map or just talent or like zog said, luck :) well, FF on played a big role... normally I would throw air strikes and kill all axis... or vice versa...then hide up as high as you can with a panzer and blow eng... :)

Great match (even though now I understand it may not have been fully completed), by both sides. I want to apologize for any crud I may have been throwing after beach rounds. Please understand that after sitting out assault round I was good and fired up (this may have been for the best, due to inexperience on that map by me). Was just totally frustrated that people who were supposedly in from the beginning (me and Boo), were locked out on assault and niether of us wanted to take spots from others who were in from beginning. That coupled with my play on beach (great teamwork guys), being competitive and returning docs twice (I realize it could have been anyone on team), led to my firing of a few zingers. Once again, want to apologize to G.F.U. and S.S. for any percieved slights. G.F.U. is a worthy opponent and should be proud of their team. All if that aside, I had a blast. Nothing better than playing with no one but team members against another. There were no noobs to be found, which made for great play.

Thanks to admins who took time to help put this on. Weasel, Boc MMmgood did a tremendous job and we all greatly appreciate it!! Maybe this will be the beginning of some sort of "clan wars" night for the alternate server. That would be awesome.

In the future, please understand that I am a very competitive person. If I slip up I'm sure that Tha or Edogg will let me know about it. Every good team needs a little "swaggar", and I'm the type of player that brings that.

WAR S.S. and G.F.U.

Great job to evryone, especially admins for gettin it done........Just a little thought for our S.S. guys, there was confusion on who should have been playin. I was wondering if you guys think it be a good idea to appoint 2 captains in charge of their own group of S.S. with them reporting to Underboss Zog and Boss Elite. They can choose out of the remaining members to be on their squad, and with this u can have each squad get a chance at playin in a macth when its their turn. Zog and Elite can choose the captains(Tha187,Edogg,Iceman,Heir Pie) would be the 4 that i would choose from, and they can select their team after they r in place. There are about 18 S.S. members with a new 1 last nite S.S. N..........if anybody else thinks this could be a good idea or if they have a better one that would stop the confusion, i think it would benefit us all

I agree with bukkake 100% hey and thanks for thinking of me :) hehe...

hey, maybe we can even use those teams when we practice, they can go against eachother and point out the weakenesses on each other....

the big boss or little boss can even spec to follow through everyone and point out individual weaknesses...

Edogg, I have to admit that I was having nightmares the night before the match, thinking about having to face you and your %#*@!!! venom in the wr. Brought back bad memories of the times before you joined SS.

I don't think you brought me down once with the venom. However, notice that I kept my little behind out of the wr. I'd rather take my chances with the airstrikes. :P

Hey wick, I think you stayed out of everywhere, to tell you the truth, I had no idea who was playing, i realized it when I saw the list of names and I said, burningwick, you a gfu? but you didn't answer... great seeing you again...

wick I dont think a lot of guys saw me last night. I was playing pretty crappy. Despite my crappiness i still managed to plant the first dyno against you guys on assault, and I almost ran the docs in on beach. Thanks to iceman for the great fumble recovery and score.

Sorry Tha, I didn't see the message. I've been playing with GFU for some time in the TWL ladders. I've posted about it before on this forum. Basically, I loved SS but also wanted a chance to play in a ladder and GFU gave me the opportunity. When I joined GFU, I made the condition the I could still play as SS when on OC48. I joined back before GFU and SS started getting all competitive with each other. Glad they're at peace now. I have a great time with both clans and am grateful of the chance to be with both. But, playing against my friends was difficult. It would have sucked being on either side. I'd rather play against somebody I don't like. However, it was a lot of fun last night and I think we should do it again.

Edogg, did you guys run the docs long or short? I didn't get to see. Think I was off in a corner somewhere playing hot potato with a 'nade.
