HuGgY BiZzLe wrote:I've never banned cross-platform. People mentioned the Rem ET hack to me long ago, I looked up the old ET threads about it. It was sufficiently vague, plus the fact banning cross-platform seems a little over the top. Should we have someone check to see if he got kicked from XBox Live too? What about that time in third grade when he was playing freeze tag and said the safe base was the tire swing when it was really the slide?

So he's either found the magic RTCW hack that remained private enough to never get passed around for his entire playing career, or he's just good. Or he's constantly found new undetectable hacks over the years. The chances of him being really good while using a hack crutch his entire life don't seem to be too high. Nearly all hackers I've seen were horrible players. A few were good players, but they were good players without the hack as well.

And if he has been hacking all these years, take solace in the fact that he is a total loser that would probably commit suicide if he ever got caught, because this game would be his life.

This is true man, anyone who needs to hack on a 9 year old game with around 100 players left must have no life at all.

sounds sorta like warpig in a way.

me myself and i wrote:Ya, it's not like anyone ever hacks in ET.

Lol you got that from my post how?

I just don't believe that ban was rem is all the concept that people can believe that he simultaneously has a private undetectable hack in rtcw but would be clueless enough to use a hack that had been widely known to be on pb's list of known hacks is just kind of funny to me.

I challenged Source to come to Quakecon to prove he doesn't hack but he refused. LAN-dodging Script Injector.

There will never be a resolution to any of this at this point. Mainly because PB is useless at this point for RTCW.

Unless

Someone, preferably MAA, creates one config that EVERYONE has to use.
Either use the cfg or don't play.
Keep it as basic as possible, except for maybe R-intensity 2 or 3 because some of the maps are just too dark (for instance I can not play Rocket) BUT that is how the map was designed..TO BE DARK FOR EVERYONE.

Then we'll see the actual skill level of every player and noone would ever be able to bring up hacking or mods, etc... again.

If the same suspected players still continue to have the same K/R's then my hat's off to them...if not....then we'll have our answers.

I can see not doing this if only a handful of regular players suspected certain other players. But I know for a fact that it is way more than a handful who think it though. "Hack this","Hack that" or "Bullshit" come up about every 30 seconds on the server.

Probably wouldn't omit all of the hacking but it would put everyone on more of a level playing field and it would finally give a break to those constantly accused of hacking.

For anyone out there that thinks hacks arent real your wrong for anyone out there that thinks hackers are all over ECGN your wrong too. Hackers are so easy to spot and the better players on the server dont hack. I remember back in the day when RTCW demo was new I was an admin on one of the most popular servers at the time. I nailed so many players and keep in mind RTCW demo had no punkbuster, but before I nailed them I always recorded demos of them first so their was no question. What I found ALWAYS was the ones that hacked were obvious, not to toot my own horn but I consider myself one of the better players on this server and I have never found anyone to be hacking on ECGN. Thats not to say there hasent been cheaters but I havent seen it when I use to bust hackers on a regular basis. I am certain that 99% of players on ECGN dont hack. Corner camping is one explanation but also if you dont play the game with headphones thats another. I do admit however that it is possible to be a skilled hacker where you hack but dont make it obvious that you do. For example your not looking at walls the whole time and you use the lean button even though you dont have to. When this game was popular still their was hundreds of players like Source and better. Nowhere near the hackers some think are out there just mods to there configs thats the only advantage but who here really uses default config?

Parrots reasoning is a joke he continues to argue on behalf of a tosser regardless of the evidence. He then questions the evidence even though it was not removed from the ban list. If he was innocent he would have challenged it and had it removed. To suggest that just because it was an older hack does not mean anything. It could have been a modified version of an old hack. In fact many people just modify old hacks because they are not smart enough to code there own. Or quite possibly he got sloppy like so many cheaters do.

Instead of spending so much time trying to vindicate caught cheaters you should spend that time trying to catch them. But even then the perma ban is not your choice is it
