I played for a short while there last night. about 20 ppl on. Good games, teamwork was as good as anywhere else has ever been. A lot can be accomplished if you can manage to stick together with two other players that have a clue.

Glad to hear the beach is still there. I've had no gaming computer since last January or so. Got it repaired, but when i got it back, I had misplaced the game disk. I had transferred the game files from my old compaq computer to the repaired one, but that didn't work. Then my DVD drive died and my son put in a new SATA drive, but f****ed up th bios, and the MoBO went belly up. Got a new MoBo, but the graphics card was toast, too (Think that was the WD40 my son used on the card cooling fan). AND XP would not load after the MoBo was replaced. Now I'm using a LINUX based tablet, which ain't gonna let me play much of anything but solitaire.
At least I got to see the real Omaha and Utah Beaches this last September. Had this irresistble urge to start sniping.....

ET is playable under linux and RTCW beach might work depending on the system config. If you got a variant of ubuntu on your system, you have a nice collection of linux based fps games that are playable here.
The main page has a nice listing of other games too check here and also might wanna check here too for more games.
Some might work with your tablet while others might not
I remember your Sorry ass running around the whole map with that mauser

Hell, I killed too many m8s with friendly fire as an Lt; never could get Medic down. Only way I could kill anybody was with that damned Mauser! Wish they'd put a G43 on there. I'll check out the sites you gave me. Thanks!

I checked out that link, but RTCW for Linux is no longer available---according to what I've been able to find on the net. I'll see if I can find something in ePay. Not being able to play is like going cold turkey off heroin.

Re: Beach 24/7 Still Alive?
Just installed RTCW on my new machine and got online on ecgn.. RTCW Multiplayer works under linux if you follow this guide. Works under Debian and Debian derivetives such us Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu etc. If you dont have the platinum disc then install wolf using the official workaround provided by idgames here (READ THIS LINK FIRST THOROUGLY).
It took me a while to figure it out but it works like a charm, who figured RTCW would work flawlessly under linux. In your Face Microsoft
