It's not a set number of pk3's, it more like the amount of objects contained in the ones you have.

So it's kind of trial and error to find if you have the problem or not. I can tell when I start seeing the corrupt mod folders appear "shru, shr, shr, etc). In extreme cases the server will just crash on a map change.

I used to get this error almost everytime a map changed. I haven't seen it again in quite awhile. Plus I never get the Shru, Shr, Sh, etc.. folders anymore. So whatever you're doing..I'd say you got it all figured out.

I had also the new folder shru, shr etc, but it have stopped about 3? month ago!
And they did come when someone did map change, when mastery did mapchange and slaughter did it. but nowdays they worked out fine!
Well stay off way of crashes, soo if they can start craches server just skip it! :D

Ah, yeah that's pretty much what I had to do. Keep removing maps until it no longer crashed on map change.

Yeah, for a while I didn't make the connection that the mod folder problem was also the pk3 bug. I've known about the pk3 bug for a long time but only had seen it crash the server before. I know to look out for it from now on when changing maps on the server.
