Did I say genetic inheritance? No I said genetics as in your own specific DNA (it's definition 2 in the dictionary if you need to look it up). That's what makes you smart or not and I maintain that has no bearing on merit. Of course educated people will tell you that education makes smart people but I don't believe that it does. Education makes you knowledgeable the two are not the same thing. I have a history degree and with it a knowledge of all manner of facts, theories etc. none of which have any real bearing on day to day activitiy. At the same time I am endlessly impressed at the sheer ingenuity of people who'll find a solution to almost any problem regardless of education or resources.

As for your interpersonal skills they manifestly are not fine. In a two week (ish) period as admin you managed to alienate and annoy such a significant number of ECGN regulars that it beggared belief. I think even Greg survived longer as an admin than you and Greg's not one for the thinking. At what point in the rational evaluation of the role of admin did you come to the conclusion that arrogance, aggression and aggravation were the secret to doing the job properly? That's a leap for sure but I don't think anyone would call it intuitive.

I'm sorry you don't get it but there's more to the role of admin than hunting through lines of code looking for 5 year old bans that everyone had forgotten about. Most of it is about keeping the majority of people happy and coming back to play on the server time and time again and we're good at it. It's a large part of why we've been populated for 7 years and other servers have fallen by the wayside.

The other have fallen by the wayside as its a dead game , you have yourself so many times made mention of. As for being populated people go where they see numbers. Bird you talk out your arse about alot of technical issues and matters regarding cheats. PB as useless as it really is( its only as good as the cvras it allows and checks for) has not been updated for over a year. Your stance seems to be oh well they ere caught 2 years ago , and they have a new guid so they must be clean now or PB would have caught them,Blah blah blah , I have seen so many of your posts regarding this in the admin section its a joke.A proactive and harder line towards cheaters is 1 reason other games and consoles are fairing so well. You compare this game to so many others out there talking about the shooting skilll etc , you may have bluffed several others at ECGN but your knowledge is minimal at best. But hey if enforcing the rules ECGN has posted and bringing some order to the server was not what the Executives wanted they should have made that clear.

But please post again parrot and tell me why I am wrong once again and how you are correct as you do in the majority of your posts on any manner. You play RTCW once a month, maybe seeing whats happening before adding your so called sage advice to issues and you wouldn't be so far off the mark.

Ive been playing on ECGN for a bit now and I dont remember seeing anyone that i could truly say "Hey this guy is a hacker for sure, there was now way he could have known i was there or there was now way he could have killed me this fast". Sure, i could respect you being the "Wolf police" as an excuse for being an ass or as a proof of trying to save the game.

But if someone like me who has played the game while hackers were dime a dozen in osp cant spot any sign of hacking on ecgn, why would you ? I am not saying that to boast or anything. But from what I have seen, you are not a bad player but you dont seem to understand what is possible or not in this game. It is like asking a traffic cop to investigate an accounting crime or fraud. The guy wont have a clue what hes looking for and wont be able to tell between good numbers from falsified ones.

If you ever come back playing, please keep that in mind that people are trying to have fun, not hearing some kid saying he did "research" on yawn (nice research on me btw, it was pretty accurate:rotflmao:) or crying hack left and right. Play the game, and you wont get banned. Thats my advice.

I don't deny it, my knowledge of specifics is minimal, I don't do code and I have no idea how the various programs work. So shoot me, nothing you've ever said has implied that you do either. Finding ips on a ban list isn't hard m8 and it doesn't exactly qualify you as a font of specialist knowledge either.

I have no illusions that PB is fail safe it clearly isn't, but if a guy got banned for a widely circulated hack in 02 and hasn't been clocked with anything since then I can't see the point in constantly hounding them, especially when the playerbase is as small as it now is. What I always say, if you bothered to read my posts is that if you can't see a hack on a demo and pb screenshots are clean, then you need to stop being so fucking paranoid and accept that RtCW is one easy ass game to aim in.

6 years is a long time. If someone was 12 in 02 they are 18 now which is plenty long enough to realise the error of their ways. CAL and TWL banned for only a year for hacks, 3 time burglars get 3 years and Conrad Black stole 6 million Dollars (that they can prove) and got 6 years. Lets have some perspective ffs.

Which is not to say that I don't fully support savage banstick beatings for constant reoffenders or anybody actually using hack at the momment, but the past is past and if they've shown they can grow where's the sense in banning them again?

As for the server population people may go where they see numbers but I can remember half a dozen other servers that were always full at one time and are stone dead now. It's convenient for the leet server exiles to think it's just down to luck that ECGN survived but it's not true, the folks here (MAA especially) have worked hard to keep the server clean and fun whist retaining enough competitiveness to to feel like you've actually had a battle.

You don't have to like it, you don't even have to quit whining about it. All you have to do is take that first step of admitting that you are a gigantic sack of tools and go down to that sandy manginas anonymous meeting and get some help...
