I shutdown my server since ECGN is back online. I will keep it for a backup if ever needed.

someone must be really pissed and is crashing the mad-server:

last entries in console are:

then it shutdown and i have to reboot the server.
we didnt have ONE crash with the server the last 2 years, but since yesterday night about a dozen with always same message.
so apologies for the downtimes, but there are other servers ;)
the attacks might end when the other servers are full.

I had this problem a couple years back when people were crashing my osp servers. You need to patch your server and preload proxocket(I don't remember the exact spelling) when launching the server.

You can find info on aluigi.org(not sure on the correct spelling for this either lol) about it.

Looks like dels server is down too but ecgn and mine are still standing. Ecgn and my servers are patched for this.

Afterwards you then have to worry about ddos attacks...

No problem. I'm also running a tcpdump/iptables script every minute but I'm not sure if that even nessacary after you patch the server. I'm not home but I can help you later if you haven't figured it out.

Is there any news about ecg server or is it definately? Server was always a sure thing by night filled with people, mad server is empty around midnight in Europe.



BTW Etwas I was thinking the same thing yesterday, I play weekly sometimes daily on mad server and never seen those crashes.
What about Mad forum, see its down too.

Also I use Qtracker for my server listings in windows and launch from there my game, Qtracker is down also.

hey vodka. unfortunately the owner of the excoboards, where MaD had their forum for a decade, closed their forums and disappeared without warning. this is really sad, tenthousands of postings, all this great pics people posted, all the contacts, everything just vanished.
