HELP, I suck at dueling !

Postby LAUGHING_GRINGO » Fri Oct 29, 2004 11:18 am

And not ashamed to admit it.

For those of you who literally run circles around me and leave me laid out crying "medic" what the hell just happened?

Do you have a basic movement configuration on your keyboards that I should know about ?
I know it's a "to each his own " kind of thing but maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Or maybe I should just stick to handing out med packs and sneaking around back stabbing enemies.

Any help (or pointing and laughing) would be appreciated.

Its nothing more than practice and lots of it, retasking your keys in such a way that YOU feel comfortable, or leaving them default like i do. spec some of these players that run circle around you and watch in amazment skillz that no dought took yrs to develop

for long distance shots like across the upper bunkers... try firing minimal bursts... while the other guy is popping off rounds you can lay in to him while he is reloading... kneel when you do that too...

The only thing that will teach him is how to patiently wait in the limbo menu.

If u want to get better, try playing on a less populated server where u aren't getting attacked from every direction all the time. Anyway, people don't play here to be skilled, they play here just to goof off and have fun, so it doesn't matter if you keep dying as long as you are chatting and laughing in global chat. That's how you get popular (unless you like to use obsceneties which is a no no), and popular people have more fun.

Practice firing at a fixed spot while moving -- this is an essential skill and the key to doing to others what you are experiencing. Also, what King said applies to almost any situation: In Wolf, short bursts are much more accurate than emptying an entire clip in one go. The more you fire, the less accurate your shots are. Resist the urge to just fire continually.

Using the Sten for a while is an incredible exercise in frustration, but it also helps you learn this lesson since it forces you to only fire in short bursts and then wait for it to cool. Not only do you become a much better shot, but you learn to keep moving and avoid return fire.

Heres another...sorry if im giving something away but here gos...put this in console /sensitivity 2.5 the lower the number the less sensitive your mouse is, so then this will help you not move your cursor at extreme speeds. Also you will see lines on the walls, look at them compared to a teammate keep your aimer/curser high when walking and running it sets for a good posture when in battles...it helps you know where to aim for headshots. 2 more things, watch Downey or other players like him ( etc. edog) when speccing them you should notice how smooth they play....no jerky movements. Try to play like them, dont nudge doorways, dont hit the ladder. Finally 1 HEADSHOT = MULTIPLE TORSO SHOTS

also if you need some explaining feal free to send me a pm...

Headshots.
Fire in short bursts.
Keep moving.
Crouch for long shots.
Practice.

Or try a panzy :)
