Make console background darker?
Anyone know of a cvar or other setting to make the console background either a single color (e.g. turn off that stupid animation), or just darker, without changing the rest of the screen?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thankyou for that professor spamenstein. Another particularly useless waste of literally seconds of my life...

I just have r_gamma 1 and 2.5 bound to a key so I can flit to dark, then back up to my normal sunny config

Nooo! The animation is supposed to be there! I mean what would happen if you suddenly forgot which game you were playing! You could just hit tilde and see that nice logo
LOL last night when I was playing I was so over-tired, I kept forgetting what side I was on. I had to hit TAB and see what team my name showed up under.
That was a sign it was time to go to bed.

That's a lot of screwing around, but not a bad idea, actually. Thanks.
I did find out on another board that there's a way to put a custom console background image in the pak0.pk3 file for some Quake 3-engine based games, but I don't think it's implemented in RTCW. I was able to get it to work in Quake 3, but not in RTCW.

One of my friends friends had a fun cat. It would go after you and try to claw you to death if you gave it the chance. Oh I tormented that bugger.
Take a pillow and toss it at the cat and watch it try to 9attack it.
The other cats were really nice, and I had fun getting them come to me. ^_^
