Linux Server Help

Postby Namloot » Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:52 pm

I'm trying to setup a RtCW server on a Linux box a freind of mine gave me access to. It's running Fedora, core 2.

I keep getting the following error when running the install:

No UI drivers available
./setup.sh: line 213: 27633 Aborted "$setup" "$@" 2>/dev/null
The setup program seems to have failed on x86/glibc-2.1

A help FAQ said to try:

export SETUP_LIBC=glibc-2.1

before running the install, negative function.

Anyone help here?

Thanks in advance.

OK, I got the binaries to compile, and the server runs, but I can't get it to bind to the box's ip.

I am using +set net_IP and +set net_port in the command line start.

I get this:

--- Common Initialization Complete ---
Opening IP socket: 67.43.228.163:27960
Hostname: jupe
Alias: localhost.localdomain
Alias: localhost
IP: 127.0.0.1

Help?

Hey Bert.

They're big on Linux on the SG forum. There's a topic related to linux game related questions. Maybe there would be some help there for you.

Thanks for the info.

I got the thing running. OSP works fine. Shrub seems to load, but clients don't see the shrub commands.

Yeah, yeah, replying to your own post is lame :)

I fixed shrub (what an 31337 h4x0r I am!). Now to get all the settings right.

You going to run a public server with that thing, 'loot, or just setting it up to see if you could do it ? :)

It's main purpose is for Team AlieN Shrub scrims, and OSP matches.

Yes, it is also a challenge, for sure. I love RtCW and ECGN. It's like everything I always wanted to know about RtCW, but were afraid to ask :)
