hey, earlier tonight ragin with 87 kills, next round i notice some players have [ecgn] tags at end of names like they do for BFV and such. These players also were in other clans from each other so i figured that it wasn't a clan thing.

Anyways, I KNEW someone would bitch after i changed....first i seen cateye do a !listplayers (nothing new) to get my slot number before saying anything to me. Then in global i get, "beo, take the tags off".

Whatever, i explain that i was just reppin' ECGN, like the others in the BFV games.

Cateye comes back and tells me that "ECGN" are exclusive for beach admins! Us peons cant use the letters.

Anyways, i know that I am NOT to question an admin for any reason whatsoever and change my name with the '[ecgn]' tags backwards and in red instead of the blue.

Lo and behold, some admin (cateye, maybe), changes my name to 'Im a dick'. REEEAAAALLL adminnng going on there. I guess I cannot even use those sacred letters in my name.

I think as long as no clan tags are stolen, then a person can use whatever name is in his head at the time. Doesnt matter if it pokes fun at other clans, it still is NOT tag stealing.

Thought you were cool Cateye, but you admins just seem to think you are better than the average joe on the server and make these little cliques. Mind you, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU BOW TO MY MP40!

Server is great w/out admins on it (save for SHIP or PARROT or CYBORG), but when Gestapo like shit is going on, that is exactly what the server is turning into.

I really wish you would've taken the opportunity to ask me about this before flying off the handle in a post on here.

The [ECGN] tag is an experiment to try and make it easier for new players to spot an Admin. That's all. Not even all the Admins think it's a good idea, so we're going to try it and see what happens.

So can you see why we'd want to limit the tag to just Admins? Honestly, it has nothing to do with putting the cold-boot-of-repression on your throat. The BF-V servers are different servers with different rules and different admins. If they use a similar tag for different reasons there, that's their business.

And by the way... I didn't change your name, because I can't.

I think (admin) would clear that up as a lot of people would like to wear ecgn tags cos they like the server

I like Parrot's idea too...

And Cat, I didnt 'fly off the handle', my name was changed...only admins can do that so I just put 2 and 2 together. And if YOU didn't, another admin did who just 'flew off the handle' anyways.

Yes I don't think I was on at the time. But not all of us admins are exactly how you interpreted.

Also level two's can't change names. So it had to be a level 3?

Anyway I still think [E-A] would be best.

a simple [A] at the end explains it. like i stated [ecgn] in a previous thread .. is a clan. this way it does not mess with clan tags and what not and actually looks minimal. why make things harder than they have to be. i know we are trying ot make things better, but why complicate things

I was not on the server when that happened eiher..We are working out the tag thing for admins.. please have patience.
