Nothing to do with Wolfenswine

Postby ro@sty_uk » Wed Feb 19, 2003 8:46 pm

Right here is the problem.

Friend downloaded Goldeneye (N64 game) from Kazza. Under the impression that it would work on his PC, (it said so). But now he is unsure as to how he can get it to work. Any ideas.

I know it is nothing to do with OC48 or wolfenstein, but you lot seem to have your heads screwed on about all PC games.

Thanks

This is probably the crappiest reply you are ever going to recieve, but it's your first one, and so it's a start........

I don't know anything about software really, I just know that you need to have some kind of software "emulator" to play those games. And they can be a hassle to set up/install. I know HMV sell them on a CD for about £10. but you can also download them off Kazaa, but beware they are usually riddled with viruses.

That's the best answer I can give you, I don't know anymore, sorry. I know what your'e thinking.... "What a useless reply".
I think I score 1% for knowledge and the other 99% is for trying.

Best Regards,
Giggles.

......Leave it with me and if nobody replies, or you get no joy I'll ask my husband to write me down a few things. (He's just a little busy at the moment).
But he is a computer whizz and he usually knows solutions to those types of things.

Good Luck,
Giggles.

giggles is right, your friend needs to download an emulator for the N64. should he manage to get a working emulator and a working copy of the game installed, he will be able to play it.

Download one of these. I used to use Project64 but that was a long time ago and I don't even know if the authors are working on it anymore. It should run Goldeneye just fine though. On top of that, it is fast and looks good. Nemu is pretty good too and is still being worked on to my knowledge. It might even be just as good as Project64 now.
