Alright, I guess we can use this as a temporary solution to arranging this. I would like to fight with 5 players but if more are present I guess we can go up. We do not have a server yet. I have connected to your SS server and I pinged "ok". It was not the greatest. But there was some laggers on there that screwed things up. We will all try to connect to it sometime and see what we ping. Also, we need to have the war sometime later in the weekend. Saturday or Sunday would be great. We have a clan war tomorrow on Wednesday so we cannot hold the scrimmage then. I would like to play beach and assault. Let's play a 5 round scenario. We play in SW mode. Standard RTCW, no mods, no nothing. If you could put OSP .3 on your server that would be great. If not, then I guess it will due:P. Anyways, the OSP things just is an anti-cheatware thing if you are not familiar with it. If you don't want to use it, then scratch the whole idea.

Oh yes, forgot to mention, if it is an OSP server, it is a simple command to start recording a demo "/autorecord" We can send them to anyone who wants to watch. Or errrrr...up to oc48 or whatever...could upload it to them and they might post it here in download forum:D

I think that a Sunday evening would be a good time. Do you have enough guys to field a 7 or 8 man team? I know you guys are running 5 on 5 matches and are probably comfortable with that, but we may have more than 5 that probably will want to play and dont want to leave people out if we dont have to. How many on GFU roster? Do you have anyone you play with that can sit in? S.S. may have to get some work in on assault map, also. Dont know how many have even played it. I myself have only played it a few times, but it did seem like a fun map. Lets continue to dialogue on this and look at a tentative date of Dec 8. Next weekend will be too soon and the following two Sundays I will be unavailable due to Buccaneer games (afternoon game v green bay and road trip to new orleans). I guess if you had to play with out me you could, but I really would like to be involved. We could go another night if everyone wants to play sooner.

What S.S. are in for this mess?? Please post below to sign up. I am officially in.

P.S. I dont know a thing about all that non cheat jibberish, all greek to me. Also, My ping at Zogs is between 150 and 210, not the best for me. Maybe OC could host it? What do you think Admins?

My server's IP address is constantly changing, which is why I'm aiming for a fixed IP and a higher upload speed with COVAD DSL, which is a works in progress. Got the hardweare, just need Verizon to get off their asses and enable the circuit.

Anyway, the Valley's current IP is always on display at http://www.zogsdogs.com

It can handle 10 players in it's current form, but hopefully with the DSL I'll either be able to bump up the player limit, or lower the average ping there. A lot of regulars there average around 120 ping, but lately AT&T has been changing thier infrastructure some something coated with peanut-butter, because even my download speed sucks now.

I also connect directly to the Valley, so I get pings below 6 (which, incidentally, isn't always an advantage).

Current IP and port is below;

24.60.176.246: 27960

Feel free to drop by, but I wouldn't be offended if we chose a different server. I just don't have the bandwidth for anything but non-serious matches.

P.S. I do have OSP ready to go, but I find the client-side application a frigin bitch to get working (not on my end, but on the connecting players' end). I'd just assume use Shrub and leave the client-side setup to a minimum.

im willing to play...ill admit i dont know assault to well. My maps are beach, base, and breakout. the three b's.:D
it cant be a late match(e.s.t), and mondays are out entirely because i have classes all day and dont get home until late.

Ha ha, zog. Good one. O.K. We have 4 thus far. I really think we will need gfu to come up with 7-8 players. It wont be late. We all work (I think). Noticed Sundays seem to be a good night for us from playing at O.C.. Lets set tentative time @ 9:00 p.m, Eastern. Will have to check all this with Mike. It's going to be harder for him since they have less people to pull from. Maybe Zog can load a assualt map at the Valley that we can fool around with. Well keep takling about it. Late.

Alright, we can play 7 players. However, one of my members is going to rent a server that can hold 14 players. If he gets this soon enough, we might be able to use it. We can get 7 players to fight you. Do you still playo n oc48 with 1.4?

Yes, downloaded and played today. Went smooth enough, well 1 crash. Admin says they know why and it wont happen anymore. I saw your roster, you have plenty of people! Lets play 8, we will have at least that many. I see you working, you wanted to use all those 5-5 tactics you all have learned on us. We're not going for that. 8 v 8 will make it fairer. If we get more than 8 I guess we can rotate (re S.S.). Will the server you get be 1.4? That's another consideration.

Interesting note to S.S. members....

I found this interesting, Burningwick is on GFU. Maybe some of you already knew this but I did not. Either way, I haven't seen him in a looong time.

That was tongue in cheek Mike, I was just kidding. Although you guys have been playing 5 v 5 and learning some strategies re: said 5 v 5 games. I would, however, like to play as many as possible for the reasons stated earlier.

The reason the number should be low in clan wars is becuase the more players you have, the less strategic and skillful the war becomes. If we have 20 people (for example) on each team, then it will be chaos. People will be running around anywhere and if an allie gets docs then there will be 15 people in radio room really quick. Also, Friendly Fire will be on correct?

I'm actually agreeing with Mike (Yikes!). I'd like a smaller game, 5 on 5 or maybe as much as 8 on 8, but not more than that.

Half the time on OC48, a team succeeds because they find a weakness, or take advantage of a few clueless noobs, but on a server where (hopefully) all the players are somewhat skilled, it might prove a little difficult to win.

I've played in Clan Wars where it really didn't matter how many players there were, because the players were just that damn good; great aim, very fast and accurate and they worked slowly, methodically and unstoppably through a map. If you attacked them too aggressively they'd wipe you out and just march to the objective. ANd most of the good Clans practiced very efficient Spawn Killing. Once they had you pinned in your spawn point, forget it.

5 on 5 is what we play in the Valley, and more often than not the Allies end up winning. Spawn times play a big part in that, I think.

We'll have to agree on more than FF being on. We'll have to agree on spawn times, classs limits, warmup times, etc. It can get grueling to get everyone happy sometimes (which is the number one reason why I hate Clan Scrimmages), but we'll see what happens.

And as far as Burningwick being on the GFU, I noticed that a while ago but didn't say anything. I've also heard of a few SS guys moon-lighting in the ASH Clan.
