A friend of mine that runs this site Rage3d.com , told me about this dell offer and he postedit online. I bought one on Sunday and the offer is still valid but with 36gb drives instead of 75 . Its a really unbelievably good deal, so if you have the cash or just need a monster of a server check it out .

***PowerEdge 1600SC Dual Capable 2.0Ghz Xeon Server with TWO 73GB 10k RPM U320 SCSI Drives for $579.15 after Rebate with FREE Shipping!***

This one is a HUGE deal on Dell`s PowerEdge 1600SC Dual Xeon (the new P4 based ones) server. It`s based on Intel`s Xeon 2.0Ghz processor, and is dual capable. A lot of people purchase these workhorses for their desktop computer, not just for server duties. Right now, when you upgrade to a 73GB Ultra320 SCSI 10,000RPM hard drive, you get a second one for FREE! For your reference, the cheapest 73GB Ultra320 10,000RPM hard drive on pricewatch is over $400. You`re getting two in this server. The PowerEdge 1600SC is built with DDR memory, the ServerWorks new GC-SL chipset, has a built in LSI Logic 53C1020 LVD U320 SCSI controller, a 450watt power supply, and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet chip.

Follow his instructions on the main page .

I just bought the second Xeon through pricewatch for 200.00 so get it quick!

Pretty grand idea for a gaming PC, but here's a little story that I heard from a friend about Dell.

He was shopping for a Dell, and he wanted to get the thing billed on his credit card, but Dell wouldn't accept it. So the PC came, and they told him to hold off a few months to see if he liked it and so forth. Well, a few months later, a bill arrives in the mail, charging him arm-'n-a-leg intrest on his PC because he didn't pay.

I'm not trying to discourage buying a Dell, but at least make sure that you can pay up-front.
