Counterstrike:Source

Postby S.Shooter » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:55 pm

I bought the game recently. Only played it a few times so i have a fair feeling of it.
I like it alot.
* Fast paced action
* Much better graphics then the old CS (and rtcw too). - Halflife2 graphicsmotor, ragdoll effects etc.
* Many mods, makes the gameplay last for a long time probably. (F.eg Gun-game v e r y cool mod imo)
* Hitboxes similar to rtcw, so easy to "convert"
* Great arsenal of weapons
* Very cool weapon sounds and uneek map/server sounds
* M a n y servers, m a n y players
* Awesome additional stats
* In built radio, stats and comms to the game. (depending on server)
* Includes halfLife 2: Deatmatch and Day of defeat: Source.

Only 3 "bugs" in my point of view.
* Ladderclimbing (too fast)
* Throwing nades/flashbangs (way to long throws)
* the AWP - one of the sniperrifles. W a y too easy imo, kills everything no matter where it hits,) lucky many servers turned it off.

I haven't put effort into the game yet but here is some stats from the -=VIA=- servers. (Worlds most popular cs:s public servers)
EDIT: Stats in realtime, follow my progress if u like.

I love playing Gun Game; Zombie isn't that bad either.

I just don't like getting stuck on the corner of some object and people blocking you which always happens. Some jackass always thinks its a good idea to stop in a doorway or block you into a doorway.

I play it every now an then. On a slow Battlefield day. The AWP has always been a pain in my ass. I love useing the auto snipers.

I try to find servers where AWP is restrickted. I always try to play on low ping servers. But they never seem to meet lol. Always been a fan of HL games like CS an DoD. They just seem to urk me alot more then back in the day. People doing more an more stuped stuff an crap...
I may not be the best
I may not be the worse
But I will do my best...

Ive got it.... cant stand all the lettle 6 year olds playing it. I have never got the AWP to work but I use just about everything else. Another thing thats bugged me is all the hacks that people use and Im not that bad of a play but when your being shot through walls its just BS.

Why do you all hate the AWP? It requires skills to use properly, and when in the hands of a skilled player, it's very deadly.

I hate people whining about the AWP. Don't like the damn thing, too bad. Learn to dodge bullets or use the AWP.

A lot of the cheaters have just been banned in the past few weeks.. over 10,000 actually. All caught with the in game anti cheat, aka "VAC". There are less cheaters than most people realize. Shooting through walls is part of the game though(I do it, without cheats).

Anyway..

CS 1.6 has DOUBLE the amount of players that CS:Source has. Mostly because 1.6 is the closest thing to the best version of CS ever created, version 1.5.

If anyone plays CS 1.6 (I try to stay away from Source), check out my servers:

69.31.96.46:27015 - SuXoRs 24/7 Assault

69.31.96.47:27015 - SuXoRs 24/7 WC3 Mod

http://www.suxors.net/forums

http://www.suxors.net/stats

The community is about 4200 players large and has a ban list of over 1500 players for the past 6 months. I make sure my admins do thier jobs, and they are damn good at it.

I play as "5.0 | CrazyKiller".

this game is a hackers paradise, and it sucks for gameplay, nothing can match the non stop excitment of rtcw

To amuse the community I took my time to write something about an other game and even threw in poll for fun.
What do i get in return Ghost?
I'll try to answer your immature reply.

I said i (me) think the awp is too easy.
The "bugs" are fine yes. I compared them to RTCW, of course.

The difference between 1.6 and CS:Source is physics and gameplay.

1.5 was the best version ever released, but I'll settle for 1.6.

See.. the thing with 1.6 is that it feels "right". There is something about CS:Source that feels a little bit off, and I can't put my finger on it. I can't get the same excitement for CS:Source that I can for 1.6

There are less hackers than people think. Most of these hackers are just people with decent aim or luck. It is possible to spray down a hall and get everybody in it with headshots; I've done that numerous times. Every game I join I see somebody bitching about being a hacker and most of the time it just turns out that the accuser is in disbelief that somebody would actually be able to shoot back. I stopped getting frustrated dying in games long ago. The only thing that sort of irks me is the twenty foot knife stab that happens in just about every online game with knives.

Thanks for the links Evan.

I went through a total reformat last week, had to redownload
my steam games so I downloaded most of the free stuff
with it. I never did try the older CounterStrike, I'll pop into
your server and see how fast I can die :)

yeah i have the game too, I was playing it lots on my b-day with some of my friends who play 1.6, were going to play more and join cal... anyhow what i think of it, people like me will have a hard time adjusting, others it should be easy because they have better aim in the game then i do (I am too high and the spray hits nothing so i fail :P) anyhow give it a try, its definitly worth it and so far i dont think i've seen any hackers, cool people on there too :), but long live rtcw its already old :S
