RtCW: Moments of ECGN History

Well, I remember registering for these forums wayyyyyyy back in the day...I believe sometime in October 2002. Anyhow, a lot has happened over the course of 4 years, from our infamous 64 Player Beach Server being "OC48 #1 MOtha Fucka Server" to now the ECGN Beach Server.

Anyhow, I was just curious what moments do you hold most fond? Give a link to any thread in particular (if given), any incidents that arose, etc.

I find it hilarious looking at some of the threads I wrote up, things I complained about, and still some I still do complain about today!

I'll start it out with a few of my own.

*the infamous grudge match(es) between S.S. and GFU- this was the first thread I ever started that actually got more than 50 replies haha.

All I know is without the drama of what RtCW brought, this place would have been dead long long ago! From Keek getting the can, to Trebor being nominated, just to get demoted for hax? wtf? haha. Either way, just post any links that you can think of, such as any heated forum debates, but just make sure it's from the RtCW section or related only.

Just curious to see what different people remember best, because there's a lot of history amongst us all!

damn Mik3 forgot about that tourney, AsB was the shit lol, watched the final between u guys and S.S. great match, but GFU kicked ass, thats before I really knew anyone

I remember the whole admin thing funny as hell, thats when I started admining

The drama was pretty funny with turning down the a/s, and making the server FF off, and all the things that gave allies a chance, like changing the settings......man those were the days

The Doc thing was classic, as well as Trash pretending to be someone else talking shit to Keek, lol

OMFG

Have we all been playing this map this long

I do miss those days, I love how hackers are getting caught left and right now, I lost alot of respect for alot of players that got banned for hacking, but still lots of good games out there on the beach server

As silly as we all looked back then, yimmering and yapping at each other, pounding our digital chests and calling each other "newbs"...I guess it did make this place pretty relevant.

I believe this was all before BF1942 came out, so there weren't many alternatives (correct me if my game lineage is wrong).

Kinda sad looking back at the old threads and seeing half of your old friends as "guests" now on this forum. Shows how long it has been since they paid a visit.

posted by Crapnel Lieutenants - Keek...He is the master of the sten a weapon made for the LT's and always seems to have an ammo pack ready for Ya. I have yet to receive a nade pack from him but believe it or not I have only taken one nade pack from an LT that I can remember and that was when Ben Frank cornered me and I had to stand still long enough to get it. Despite the appearance that I have an endless supply of nades I am left to scurry around the dead looking for leftovers.

BF1942 was out even when all the fighting was still going on. Even though it dropped a little with it's release, there was still some good arguments. Sorry, I like to prove people wrong.

I tried to do my part by keeping the fighting going on but it's pretty boring right now drama wise. Plus the players who I used to talk to are no longer around as much or not at all. As soon as Keekanoo was removed as an admin and banned, it was a sour victory for me.

Although, I did hear the other day that MsB was removed as an admin because she didn't want to get with Man-At-Arms in real life. He supposedly banned her daughter too but I think I saw her on the other day so who knows.

See? I still like to do my part.

but if you want to talk funny moments in RTCW.

Raven was sniping on the beach and i was trying to snipe him back but was losing like 6-0. So I said hell with it and went medic to go poison him.

Well he sees me coming and global chats "dont stab me" , and throws his gun down. This was in the day where you could go LT and pick up a mauser.

So he throws the gun, then proceeds to shoot the gun with his luger so i see he threw it down. I swap it out for my gun and he fills me up with ammo and chats BYE BYE HAVE FUN, or something like that.

I was laughing my ass off, wish I would have demo'd it. Raven was awesome, wonder where he is?

keek kicks me for "ping too high".

i turn off bittorrent and come back. wait a minute so i could get back on allies. join game.

i'm talking to ticks in console and see "keek has been kicked". i say to ticks "whoa see that? someone booted keek".

keek comes back. hits ME with the banhammer... tho i did jackshit. he always had it out for me tho so it wasnt any suprise to me. (he thought i was the head of the anti-keek coalition)

i change a few things. 2 mins later, i'm back ingame pistolwhipping the sten god like i'm playing singleplayer.

i also used to love when teams were horrible stacked for hours with no shuffle, so me, mili, ticks, nofx, wo0t, red sharpie, and a few other friends would join the gimp team, roll faces, then admin would instantly !shuffle...

good times!
