Punkbuster
For those of you having problems with Punkbuster, you may need to manually update it.
Download and run the PBSetup tool, which you can download from here:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
Since the latest update, you may also need to install the Punkbuster Service component, which you can download from here:
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
If you are having issues after updating these, the issue may be with your firewall and/or virus scanner. You can read about that here:
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsvcfaq.php

Re: Punkbuster
did all that, still having issues
Re: Punkbuster
Same here -- did PB update, firewall, and virusscan but still no luck. It seems this affects all RTCW running PB? I looked at the RTCW server menu for Internet and it shows all PB-enabled servers empty, but non-PB servers (e.g. HP) populated.
I hope they fix this soon. I am starting to have withdrawal symptoms... I think I will go have a drink
